14.01.2022 We know new parents want to better share the responsibilities of raising their kids. Despite this, the number of parents fully accessing their parental leave entitlements are surprisingly low. Are you aware of all these parental leave entitlements? The primary carer of a newborn or newly adopted child gets up to 18 weeks Paid Parental Leave, paid at the National Minimum Wage.... Eligible working dads and partners (including same-sex partners) get 2 weeks leave paid at the National Minimum Wage. New parents who’ve been working for an employer for more than 12 months are entitled to 12 months unpaid parental leave. Many workplaces also offer employer-funded parental leave that provides additional benefits or entitlements to new parents. When all new parents take their full entitlements, it helps create a more equal division of unpaid care and paid work and improves our family work-life balance
