25.01.2022 GREAT NEWS FOR DONNYBROOK $6 million to the Donnybrook and Districts Sporting and Recreation Precinct to co-locate sporting and recreation grounds from across Donnybrook into a modern facility.

24.01.2022 The Biggest DAM Mural you are ever likely to see! Its so exciting to know that world-renowned artist Guido van Helton has been selected to be lead artist in the painting of a large scale (slight understatement ) mural on the Wellington Dam wall. Check out his work https://www.facebook.com/guido.vanhelten Guido will be visiting Collie to meet with locals, listen to your stories, and get a feel for what makes our town tick. ... Tag a local who has a good yarn to tell about our town, who knows it might be their face we see painted on the wall.

23.01.2022 Just like Madeleine King, my parents weren't wealthy. Dad was a mill worker and my Mum was a cleaner. We didn't have a lot. But just like Madeleine King, going to university changed my life. I was the first in my family to do so. Regional kids have the extra challenges of paying for accommodation and living expenses. Despite being capable, no wonder they often don't complete their degree or even start it in the first place. We can't let increased fees be another reason for young people who want a university education to miss out because they can't afford it.

These policies are designed to help local businesses secure work from local State Government projects and boost our local economy. Bunbury: 28 July at 4.30pm, Quality Hotel Lighthouse. Collie: 30 July at 4.30pm, Collie Family Centre. For more information and to register visit www.industrylink.wa.gov.au/events

22.01.2022 Please take the time to have a read. "Hotel quarantine is not simply about available beds, it is about the capacity of qualified people to provide medical, support, security, and police services." Premier Mark McGowan.

22.01.2022 How I embarrassed my teenagers in 3 easy steps. Step 1: Plastered the back of the family car with a picture of myself and Premier Mark McGowan. Step 2: Showed them a core flute (sign) featuring an up-close headshot of me, and described how many will be displayed around town when the writs are issued. ... Step 3: Explained why I am asking friends/family/supporters (this is you) to please donate to my campaign so many more core flutes, t-shirts, hats can be purchased. A $20 donation can cover the cost of all three. Donate here: https://jodiehanns.com.au/donate/ This awkward conversation was finished with these words this is embarrassing now but it will pass, if elected and I join the Mark McGowan Labor team I will do you proud.

21.01.2022 CHECK YOUR BREASTS!! The first stop of the morning was my appointment at the Breast Screen van in Collie for my mammogram. The Breast Screen van is an initiative of the Health Department of WA and allows rural and regional women to access breast screening services in their own community. ... Such a timely reminder that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. My absolutely beautiful best friend Tara is one of these women having been diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy, chemotherapy, and reconstructive surgeries. Breast cancer is brutal Tara and her family lost her Mum Lynn to this disease. Please remind the women (and men) in your life to check their breasts and book in for regular mammograms. https://www.breastscreen.health.wa.gov.au/

20.01.2022 We hear you WA. I wont stop fighting for WAs hard border. Restricting travel into Western Australia has been one of our most effective weapons against this p...andemic that has upended the world. When we made the decision to shut our border we did it to protect the health and well-being of our citizens. It has dramatically reduced the chances of the virus coming into WA from the rest of the nation. And it has worked. It has meant that Western Australians efforts and sacrifices to suppress the virus, like following the restrictions, closing businesses, washing hands, getting tested, staying home when sick werent in vain and undone by travellers. As a result of our success and our hard border, it meant that WA could lift restrictions inside our borders safer and sooner that everywhere else in the nation, so that the community could quickly regain the freedoms they gave up to fight the virus. The hard border gives Western Australians confidence to take advantage of those freedoms going to the pub, holidaying around the State, getting back to their favourite activities, spending time with their loved ones. The hard border has saved jobs and given businesses the confidence to reopen, rehire and invest, because they know the border makes it less likely well have to reimpose restrictions. As life gets back to normal in WA, confidence has returned and Western Australians are getting out there and supporting their local businesses and local jobs. Plain and simple: the border has saved lives, and as a result it has helped our local economy. I know its not without cost. Its affected certain businesses, its separated families. For that Im sorry. But Id make the same decision all over again. I will not be intimidated by Clive Palmer and the Liberal Party over this. We will do whatever we can to protect WA. Thats why we introduced the hard border. Extraordinary times, called for extraordinary measures. As Premier, I will continue to work cooperatively with the Federal Government and the Prime Minister, in the national interest and for WA. Ive respected the work and effort the Prime Minister has put in over a very difficult period. However on this issue, our position is clear. The Liberal Partys actions and support for Clive Palmer will have real consequences for the jobs, health and lives of Western Australians if they are successful in the High Court. The Western Australian community has been loud and clear. The hard border must stand, and only come down when its safe to do so. Thank you, WA.

07.01.2022 A recipe for impressing the Premier: 1. Start with your base: an awesome community (be sure to go with the resilient type), a generous amount of gorgeous natural environment, and massive potential (no need to measure, you can't have too much); 2. Add: significant State Government investment - fold into the existing Collie Futures Fund investment; ... 3. 01.01.2022 Thank you to all of the amazing Principals who work in primary schools. You are responsible for the education of children in those very important early years of schooling right through to pre-teens. I loved my Principal at Yarloop PS, Mr Brendon Hart. Like many country school Principals, he taught multi-level classrooms, mentored new teachers, and lived in our community. He inspired me, and so many others, to be the best we could be and to follow our dreams. I dont know if he would have seen politics in my future, but I can only thank him for giving me the fundamental belief in the power of education and its ability to change the world.
