10.01.2022 SMR Jodo demonstration today - all done. The inaugural Matsuri Japanese Festival today in Parramatta. Another couple this year run by Matsuri in Sydney - Chatswood and the big one in Darling Harbour that had 85,000 visitors last year . Not the best weather but got by. Senior instructor Andrew Poulos assisted by David Ward & Bob Meguyer.

08.01.2022 It is with sadness that I report that Martin Sill passed away recently. He was a well respected and much admired member of our association. He was extremely powerful yet always considerate towards others. He made Jo in Australia better for having chosen to be a part of it. I think myself fortunate to have known him. May he rest in peace. 06.01.2022 There are some techniques which seem very simple and straightforward yet when attempted become impossibly difficult. Here the late Nishioka Sensei demonstrates one such technique from the end of Samidares Ichimonji. Taking control of uchidachi without violent movements is almost beautiful.

Over the next year we will introduce you to all twenty-four of these mini-seasons b...y posting a picture of Sengan-en and the name of the "sekki" on the day that they occur. October 8th is called "kanro", meaning "cold dew". 04.01.2022 Last October I travelled to Kyushu (one of the southern islands of Japan) and the birth place of Jodo. One of the viilages I stayed at was the beautiful Takachiho in Miyazaki prefecture. Today theres the tragic news that six people have been killed there in a gruesome murder :-(
