22.01.2022 Wow it's been a busy week! We've had 7 NEW BULLDOGS come into our care in the past 7 DAYS. And there's many more bulldogs who we're actively trying to place in ...homes so they can also come into our care. Please welcome MIA, BELLA, LILLY, CEDAR, TINKERBELL, JUNIOR & DOLLY to the Mini's Bulldog Rescue family. RESCUED BULLDOGS = EXPENSIVE VET BILLS If you can help wth a small (or big) donation it would be greatly appreciated. WESTPAC BSB: 032-051 ACC: 806473 https://www.minisbulldogrescue.com/donate We know lots of people are doing it tough financially at present. Please don't feel you have to donate if this is you. Take care & stay safe, thank you for your support __________________________________________________________ DOLLY is a 1 year old Aussie Bulldog who hadn't been getting along with the other dog in the home. She was collected from the outskirt of Sydney last Saturday by one of our most experienced foster carer's and is settling in. Poor Dolly is very timid and has bad entropian - which will required eye surgery to correct. Thank you Vicki for fostering again. JUNIOR is a 3 year old Aussie Bulldog who had been privately rehomed from Sydney to Newcastle but it didn't work out. We were contacted to help out & matched Junior up with another suitable Newcastle family. Junior was quite anxious to start with, but he's now he's now settling in. Junior will be on trial for a couple of weeks, needs to visit our vet and we're organising some training support. Thank you to Jodie & family for opening your home to Junior. CEDAR is a female 3 year old American Bulldog x Shar Pei who had been patiently waiting at a Melbourne shelter for us to place her with a foster carer. She had been adopted from the same shelter a couple of years back, and returned recently. Thank you Cass for collecting Cedar and fostering again. MIA is a female 11 month old American Bulldog who found herself in a rural VIC pound. She made the long trip on rescue transport to Melbourne on Wednesday, thank you Sammi & Robert for fostering Mia. TINKERBELL is a female 8 year old American Bulldog who was left abandoned by her previous family at the house when they moved, she ended up at an outback NSW pound and travelled 12 hours on the same rescue transport as Mia to get to Melbourne. Thank you Sally & Jess for fostering again. BELLA is a female 3 year old British Bulldog (X?). She was due to be euthanised as previous owner didn't want to get surgery done to repair her ruptured cruciate ligament. Thank you to lots of kind folks who acted quickly and made sure Bella was saved. Thank you CJ for collecting Bella and temp fostering her, its been lovely to get to know you and we'll ask for your help again for sure. Thank you Katie & Leigh for fostering Bella. Bella will be off to Dr Bob this week to see about fixing her leg, and anything else that needs doing. LILLY is a female 8 year old British Bulldog who her previous family could no longer keep. She too is located in Melbourne and we were fortunate a previous MBRC adopter offered to give her a home. Thank you Tammy, it's been great to re-connect with you. Lilly is a big girl, she will be on a diet and also off to see Dr Bob to understand if she has any medical concerns.

16.01.2022 This is something everyone should see. When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod a...round so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet. When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in. But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint. You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one. Once grown you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once. A bit of back-story: This is a baby puppy who had a knock to his elbow and wasn't using it properly, so he was taken to the vet. There is nothing wrong in these x-rays, thankfully it is a soft tissue injury and he is expected to be fine.

15.01.2022 PLEASE LEAVE THEM IN THE SHOPS The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China. Their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a... toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes. They regularly cause intestinal blockages and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog. Please be safe with your dogs!

04.01.2022 With all of your support, we tried and tried but couldn't fix Milo. Puppy heaven gained another angel today Milo deserved so much better than the life he ha...d before coming to MBRC, Milo was just too sick and we couldn't make him better. Milo got to know a normal loved pet life with his own family, for a very short time. It was only just over 2 weeks ago that he turned 1 and was discharged from ARH. Thank you Kristy for loving and caring for Milo like you did, and for holding him as he took his last breath. Milo is at peace now. Running free of pain & suffering. That's the last gift we could give Milo to help him when he was so so sick. We're honestly too upset to say much more right now. Hug your bullies extra tight tonight and please light a candle in memory of Milo
