25.01.2022 1871. A young medical student who was worried about his future picked up a book and read 21 words that changes his life. He organized Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He became Regius Professor at Oxford. He was knighted by the King of England. When he died, two volumes containing 1466 pages were required to tell the story of his life. His name is Sir William Osler. Here are the 21 words from Thomas Carlyle that he read, "OUR MAIN BUSINESS IS NOT TO SEE WHAT LIES DIMLY AT THE DISTANCE, BUT TO DO WHAT LIES CLEARLY AT HAND." Live today....live your life to the max. Your future is today. Shut up yesterday and LIVE!

24.01.2022 "As to the Christian Religion, Sir, besides the strong evidence which we have for it, there is a balance in its favour from the number of great men who have been convinced of its truth. Grotious was an acute man, a lawyer, a man accustomed to examine evidence and he was convinced. He was not a recluse but a man of the world who certainly had no biase to the side of religion. Sir Isaac Newton set out an infidel and came out to be a very firm believer." (Life of Johnson, 1791. Page 282)

21.01.2022 'EVERY DAY IS A NEW LIFE TO A WISE MAN' Why are we such fools - such tragic fools? "How strange it is, our little possession of life! The child says, 'When I am a big boy.' The big boy says, 'When I grow up." And then grown up he says, 'When I get married.' After marriage he said, When I am able to retire.' And when retirement comes, he looks back over the landscape traversed, a cold wind seems to sweep over it, somehow he has missed it all and it is gone. LIFE, we learn too ...late, is in the living, in the tissue of every day and every hour." - Stephen Leacock LIVE YOUR LIFE TODAY. SHUT UP YESTERDAY. LIVE NOW.

20.01.2022 If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill, Be a scrub in the valley but be the best little scrub. Be a bush if you can't be a tree. If you can't be a bush, be a bit of grass and make some highway happier. If you can't be a muskie, than just be a bass but be the liveliest bass in the lake. We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew.... There's something for all of us here. There's big work to do and there's lesser work to do. If you can't be the highway, than just be a trail. It isn't by size that you win or fail. BUT BE THE BEST OF WHATEVER YOU ARE! - Douglas Malloch - See more

20.01.2022 "All human development, no matter what form it takes, must be outside the rules; otherwise, we would never have anything new." Charles Kettering

16.01.2022 "As we survey all the evidence, the thought insistently arises that some supernatural agency or, rather, Agency must be involved. Was it God who stepped in and so providentially crafted the cosmos for our benefit?" - Astronomer George Greenstein - "Astronomy leads us to a unique event, a universe which was created out of nothing, one with very delicate balance needed to provide exactly the conditions required to permit life, and one which has an underlying supernatural plan." Nobel Laureate Arno Penzias

12.01.2022 "Man in the 20th century has been busily engaged in a quest for dignity. It is a very earnest quest. The civil rights movement developed the cry, 'We are human beings, we are creatures of dignity.' So also have others. But the existentialist tells us that our roots are in nothingness, that our future is in nothingness and he asks, 'Think man, if your origins are in nothing and your destiny is in nothing, how can you possibly have any dignity now?' If our past history tells us... that we have emerged from the slime, that we are only grown up germs, what difference can it possibly make whether we are black germs or white germs, whether we are free germs or enslaved germs? Who cares? We can sing of the dignity of man but unless that dignity is rooted substantially in that which has intrinsic value, all our songs of human rights and dignity are so much whistling in the dark. They are naive, simplistic and credulous. And the existentialist understands that. He says, 'You are playing games when you call yourselves creatures of dignity. If all you have is the present, there is no dignity, only nothingness.' - R.C Sproul See more

10.01.2022 Living life to its fullness SALUTATION TO THE DAWN Look to this day! For it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course... Lie all the verities and realities of your existence: The bliss of growth The glory of action The splendor of beauty For yesterday is but a dream And tomorrow is only a vision, But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness And every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day! Such is the salutation to the dawn. Poem written by Kalidasa which Sir William Idler always kept on his desk.
