20.01.2022 A great opportunity to meet some local authors and spin some yarns...
19.01.2022 New book out! A biography of life stories as told by Dene Smith to Joe during 2015-16. The stories encompass Dene's early years through to retirement and tell of the hardships he endured and the good times he enjoyed in his life.
18.01.2022 ANZAC Day still being commemorated, just a little differently this year. Here are some photos from our place. Our neighbours could all be seen in their driveways as well. I've included a poem I wrote for my mother who was always given space from us rowdy kids on this special day of rememberance. (The poem is published in my book "When I was a Kid".)
17.01.2022 We have a story in the paper after Joe's interview with Kristen Booth. Get your copy

01.01.2022 This book is written in short story format to explain the happenings whilst mustering Central Queensland cattle stations. Joe has worked with some very good ringers and cattle men over many years. Some of his bush rides were outstanding! Mustering and catching wild cattle and to get through without any permanent injury was outstanding. Much credit must go to his very good horses.
01.01.2022 A wonderful collection of stories of growing up as a kid in the 1950s in Emerald Qld. Joe was prompted into writing these stories after a visit to his grandchildren, so they would know how very different his childhood was compared to theirs.
