25.01.2022 Flashback Friday! My interpretation of an amazing shot by @larsoncraig which is still one of my favourites from a long time ago now. To me this view incaptulates that search or hunt that happens when out in the line up looking for waves, that should I go or take the next one thing that happens when you're out and it's pumping. You're behind the peak and it looks like it's going to close out but the barrel will be mad haha... I love it and I hope you do too!

24.01.2022 How cool is #pixeloop I'm almost considering stockpiling used televisions and finding a way to integrate my work on a loops like this, all you'd have to do is hang the TV. Add a frame or paint the old plastic... How rad would that be!?

24.01.2022 Happy Halloween! So broken, we had 8 kids over and hit the streets for some sweet treats... in 35 degree heat. I should be a rapper. I accidentally turned the camera on and this is what I saw hahahaha, currently lying on the floor under the air conditioning with a blanket it's that good... I may sleep here.

23.01.2022 Hawkes Bay local photographer @mayowaves keeps posting photos like this and making me homesick. Ocean Beach, this place when it's on has a heavy, thick, hollow spitting shorebreak. I sent a lot of my teen years at this place, probably more than I was at school for certain periods hahaha... I love it, still think about it a lot and god, I miss it. #happyplace

18.01.2022 I'm starting to get my idea down now and I realise exactly how much work is ahead of me before I can finish what I envisaged... ... So needless to say I have years to go before this one is done! Loving it so far though, I'll keep going I suppose.

17.01.2022 Mighty Mos! Work in progress... I'd forgotten about this one, I found it in the pile of old pieces. It's been 4 years! I have it a tune up, it's not quite there yet but very close. Glad I found it, also a good reason to chuck the album on.

16.01.2022 I am planning on finishing this one tonight... maybe a shark or two, some heads on stakes, some shadowy figures... who knows what will happen! any ideas? #skullbeach

15.01.2022 I'm back painting again! I've been really blocked up creatively over the last few months that I haven't been able to muster up many hours in front of the easel at all... So instead I have been concentrating on boxing training and getting really buff (which is a lot harder than I thought it would be after letting myself go so much and now being a bit old). Anyway, I think the hiatus and the new found health has helped me find my way back into it and I'm ready to paint up a storm again. Pumped!

13.01.2022 #progress I've had a few weeks hiatus from the easel but I got back into it again last night! Here's the result of about 3-4 hours work hahaha... I'm left handed so I'm cutting in all the boxes one way, then I'll flip it upside down and get the rest. Not the most exciting painting so far, I was thinking about Bob Ross last night and if i was to do a tutorial with this piece it would be nothing but grumbling and heavy mouth breathing! - any mistakes I'll make into birds, I promise.

12.01.2022 I am white. I am out of my depth here. I don't bear these scars. I'm breaking my silence that could contribute to complicity. ... I'm learning. I'm angry. Right now we need righteous anger to fight hatred. Galvanising Anger. Anger that stems from a deep, raging love. From the knowing that we are all one. From the fact that we shouldnt even have to say that black lives matter.

12.01.2022 Here it is... hours and hours of painstaking work and for what? I'm not sure yet but it's a start. There's lots of torn bits, pencil marks and mistakes all through it, I even stuffed up the measurements in parts but I'll make it work! #ruggedgeometry now for the fun part... the painting!

05.01.2022 Almost there. My last pass at this one wasn't quite doing it for me, inside the lip of the wave looked like I had used potato stamps to paint it. I took out the big brush and got stuck back into it, I like it better already. #rework #yew

04.01.2022 My huge Britney piece is coming along nicely now, just the fine detail to go! I've been really tempted to play with this one and potentially take a few risks like an intense red and white striped background for example. But everyone around me thinks it needs to stay pretty true to the original photo especially being such an iconic moment. Shall I hold back? What are your thoughts?

04.01.2022 Still working through this one tonight so I thought I'd give you a progress snap. I'm enjoying it but it's so friggen tricky... mainly because you all know exactly what she looks like! I've almost got it though, then maybe I'll take a few risks and play a bit... who bloody knows aye. #britneybitch p.s how funny is it that she's wearing pearls in this situation, it really amuses me!
