06.01.2022 Living on a yacht has taught me so much. It’s more demanding than I anticipated. It’s not like living in a house or driving a car. There’s also challenging aspects related to living in such a small space. Things break and they are expensive in either time or money to fix. Sometimes it’s dangerous and you think ‘what the hell am I doing’. Then you’ll have an experience that you can only get by living like we do. It’s not an instant simple feeling of ‘this makes the hard bits w...orthwhile’, it’s more like ‘wow, we’ve covered a lot of ground to be here and this experience is one to savor. In this way living on a yacht mirrors life a bit. But it amplifies the highs and lows of life, one minute you’re annoyed that there isn’t quite enough room, the next you’re having a picnic on the bow at a location you’ve gotten to yourself, that few people can access. Then you wish you had more room again, haha. We’re currently trying to align the planets on a house and bigger boat so we will see.
