24.01.2022 JOEYS ON HOLIDAY: Movie review of Peter Rabbit 2 "The rabbits were awesome and Peter is really funny. It was pretty much as good as the first one." - Paddy, Year 2 "I actually really liked it. Good storyline and characters - and I legitimately laughed out loud in places. A decent one for both parents and children (I took an 8 and 5 year old). No one needed a toilet break mid-way through which is usually a sign it was pretty engaging." Rory, parent Have you been to see anything, gone anywhere or done something your Joey would like to review? Shoot us a message!

23.01.2022 Easter is a time of reflection and renewal We asked our students what they were grateful to have learned during Term 1. They talked of friendship, adventures, family time and growth... reminding us all that even when things are stressful, unpredictable or challenging, there's always room to find a rainbow What are you grateful for?

22.01.2022 Today marks the end of Lent A special well done to everyone who gave up something for 40 days and managed to stick to their Lenten vow (Let's just say there's a Year 2 student who is extremely excited to mark the end of his decision to give up chocolate!)

20.01.2022 It’s rare to find Year 6 not playing basketball or racing around the playground, but that first day back catch up with mates is worth finding a quiet nook for

20.01.2022 Happy Easter to all our Joeys and their families!

19.01.2022 First, second and third in our Cross Country trials and VERY chuffed about it! The top six runners from each gender and age group made it through (more details to follow directly). For anyone who wants to do some training during the holidays, the Northern Beaches Cluster Cross Country Carnival will be a 3km run for 11 and 12 year olds, 2km for others. It will be held at Rat Park North Narrabeen, on Wednesday May 5

17.01.2022 Done something cool already these holidays? Shoot us a DM and let us know - so we can share ideas and inspiration with others! We would love Joeys to provide reviews in their own words of movies they have seen, activities they have tried and places they have visited

16.01.2022 We have just launched an Instagram account and would love you to follow us! It's a little unique in that the account is all about the students - in their words, usually featuring their own art, videos or images. It's a chance to see what school is like through their eyes. Check us out at instagram.com/joeysnarrabeen

15.01.2022 Wondering what uniform your Joey should be wearing when school resumes Monday? We now have a few weeks of 'transition', where students can wear either summer or winter uniforms. Your Joey needs to wear full winter or full summer (not a combo of both). April weather is always unpredictable, so this allows students to wear the most suitable uniform - keeping them comfortable

11.01.2022 Just a last minute reminder to enjoy the snuggly sleep-ins now... School is back this coming Monday 19 April!

10.01.2022 JOEYS ON HOLIDAY: "First weekend of holidays we spent watching our older sister who was chosen to play in representative baseball as 1 of 2 girls in the state tournament representing Manly. We were so proud and loved watching all of the kids we know playing for Pittwater baseball as well. Not to mention the canteen helped! Yum!" Kolton, Year 2 and Jaxon, Year 5. (Special congratulations to former Joey Jocelyn, who was selected for Manly Baseball as a member of the Intermediate All Star Team playing in the Baseball New South Wales State Tournament and to Jaxon, who was chosen to represent Manly in Little League Minors and will compete in the State tournament next weekend. AMAZING! )

09.01.2022 We use an incentive system at St Joseph's called 'Joey Awards'. Students are given a Joey when they demonstrate our core values of community, respect, stewardship and compassion. While they are acknowledged individually, they are rewarded as a group. Once 10-20 individual Joeys are earned (depending on the year level), the class gains a collective Joey award 20 class Joey awards = a whole class reward! Students negotiate a class reward with their teacher, working as a... group to choose something suitable (and awesome!) Year 2 recently chose to bring a soft toy to school for the day , while other classes have chosen to wear mufti, have a class disco or ice blocks as a treat!
