25.01.2022 We have inspected the fields tonight and have decided to close them for all training this week in the hope they can dry out before the weekends games Please share with your teams! We will reinspect on Friday

25.01.2022 Our gorgeous U6’s at their last game for the season

25.01.2022 U6s training will be 5.45 -6.15 on Thursdays Please wait at the fence line to get your name marked off and use the hand sanitiser before training

25.01.2022 Soccer season is about to begin (again ) All players should have received a player update email today from NFA - if you didnt get it let me know. The email explains a few things you must be aware of to get the season rolling. Everyone has been working really hard to ensure we can play within the guidelines and it is important that all our members work with us to embrace the changes. A couple of important points ... 1. The entrance to our fields will be at the break in the fence next to the covered seating area. There you will find hand sanitiser to use. We would appreciate no one juming the fence or using any other entrance to our fields 2. Parker St has a maximum 500 people at any one time and as we share the fields this capacity is for both Joeys and Rovers. Although I wouldnt envisage us reaching that capacity please be considerate of all our players by only having 1 spectator per player. This is the rule and unfortunately not negotiable 3. Social distancing is still in place therefor the 1.5m rule is in place. Our ground officials will be enforcing this so please respect their position - it is volunteers like this who enable you to play this season. 4. If you are unwell - player/spectator/kids please stay home. You may be asked to leave the fields if you have flu like symptoms- please respect those around you 5. We ask that all spectators be on the opposite side of the field to the players (think of the cricket pitch being the correct side for spectators regadless of which field are being played on) we have had to enlarge the technical boxes to ensure social distancing which will not leave sufficient room for spectators. I am always available to answer any concerns or questions you may have- we all have our part to play to ensure we can enjoy the season. Cheers Lindy

25.01.2022 Update to Village Oval Jordan Springs Joeys FC In staying true to our Club ethos here at Joeys, I thought it appropriate to give our players and families an update in relation to what has been going on behind the scenes in relation to obtaining access to Village Oval, Jordan Springs Since late last year when all this exciting growth and potential was offered to us, we here at Joeys were advised that we would be facilitated and operational within Village Oval soon after the ...commencement of the 2021 Winter Registration Season which kicked off around 3 Jan 21. Since this time the ‘move in’ date has been extended repeatedly well outside the control of Joeys and your Committee. I know that I am sure there are many frustrated players / parents out there with the unknown but please know that I am in contact with Nepean Football Association and Penrith City Council weekly chasing up our situation. In saying this Nepean Football and Facilities and Recreations Penrith Council have been supportive and diligent in chasing this issue to assist us in gaining access to Village Oval. Penrith Council is committed to having the goals and fields marked, as well as assisting Joeys with the move from Parker Street to Village Oval as soon as they receipt control of the facilities. The delay is outside the control of Joeys, NFA and Council and currently rests with the developers. So where does it put us as a club who have made a commitment to you, the players and parents? Training will continue as planned; however, as daylight savings comes to an end we need somewhere with lights in the short term. As such, although the lighting at Parker Street Oval is not suitable, we will all have to start utilising Parker Street for our training. I recently had discussions with Nepean Football Association in relation to the start of the Season proper and have been advised that the first few rounds of the season will see us utilising Parker Street as our initial home ground until the above issue is rectified, and we have access to Village Oval. The unknown is whether that will be next week or next month, so it is a waiting game for all of us. But be assured there are organisations out there fighting for us to get the issue resolved as soon as possible. I ask each of you to bear with us and please do not blame your Committee over this matter as they are just as frustrated as some of you. We entered this new venture in your community in good faith and know we will continue to operate as normal until we move into our new home. Joeys is known for its resilience, and with your support we will overcome this challenge and continue to make this club great! Let us be positive and look at kicking off our inaugural year as a season to remember and giving thought to those Clubs out there that have just been devastated by the recent floods within our area. Ken Fenton President Jordan Springs Joeys FC

19.01.2022 Due to all the rain that we have had ALL Fields are to remain closed for this week. NO training is to be conducted on any fields.

18.01.2022 With a few days of nice sunshine we have inspected the fields and have deemed them safe to use. Please be careful as there is still a few minor soft spots around the fields. Remember to STAY OUT of the Goal Area.

17.01.2022 The weather has definitely reminded me that soccer is a winter sport Goodluck to all our senior teams playing round 1 today Remember to warm up!

17.01.2022 We are back for training! Everyone should have received an email this morning outlining our return to training plan. Please check your junk and let me know if you didnt get it and I can resend. I have used the email addresses you registered with. Please be aware there are strict guidelines we must adhere to which will ensure the safety of all players/parents and committee. Please familiarise yourselves with the documents attached to the email. If you choose not to train due ...to the current climate thats ok! Just let your coach know. If you ordered and paid for shorts and socks, they are in - we will get these to your coach to distribute at training. Looking forward to seeing players on the park again and Im confident that together we can do it safely. Any questions let me know cheers Lindy

17.01.2022 Last game of the season and the U16G get their revenge on the coach (who also happens to be our President)

17.01.2022 Great game from the U6s this morning! The rain didnt even bother them

16.01.2022 Active Kids Voucher! While you wait for registration to open on the 11th January you can apply for your active kids voucher so you have it ready to go. This is for any eligible kids (basically school age with a medicare card) that gives you $100 off registration fees. This means your fees for the entire year could be as little as $14 depending on your age!... What you need to do 1. Register for Service NSW if you haven't already. 2. Answer the questions (you will need your child's name, birthday and medicare card). 3. It will give you a printable voucher with a voucher number. Keep this safe as you will enter the number in when you register. Let us know if you have any hassles, we are more than happy to help where we can. For parents that are new to soccer, you will need. Boots Shin pads Navy shorts/socks - both which can be purchased from the club. Your playing shirt will be provided. We have loved to see so many messages and questions come through since our announcement about the move. Keep an eye on the page in the coming days where I will post how to register including links to make it easy. Cheers Lindy Competition Secretary Female Football Coordinator https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/tr/apply-active-kids-voucher

15.01.2022 To our junior coaches please see attached

15.01.2022 It was great to see so many kids playing today - many in their first ever game of soccer! Everyone did really well and showed excellent sportsmanship and teamwork which is what its all about. Thanks to Nick Regis - The Agency for sponsoring all our U7 teams this year - they look great in their new jerseys. Feel free to post your team pics and tag :-)

14.01.2022 In keeping with the move Joeys SC has changed our name to Jordan Springs Joeys Football Club. We want to assure our players and supporters that we are the same club with the same people however feel that the new name will bring a sense of identity to the club. Cheers Lindy

14.01.2022 **** Just a reminder for wet weather (especially for those new to soccer) If your game is cancelled/postponed/moved due to wet weather, several things will happen 1. I will post on Facebook ... 2. You will get a txt or a group msg from your coach/manager 3. Widespread cancellations will be put up on the NFA home page. Do NOT assume your game is cancelled by reading other clubs FB page or msgs from other teams - players have been caught out by this in the past. The comp secs from all clubs are up early every sat/sun when theres bad weather co-ordinating with each other and just because its raining heavily in one area doesnt mean games wont go ahead in others! We can only control what happens at Parker St in regards to closing fields. I am happy to receive txts if your not sure but as soon as I know anything about games I will contact your coach/manager asap and post on FB This frustratingly occurs every year with players deciding games are cancelled based on misinformation obtained from FB. Any questions please let me know At this stage all games for this weekend are on Cheers Lindy 0410 633568

14.01.2022 Our registration numbers have taken off like wildfire which is great! There are limited spots in our senior teams so we ask that if you are considering registering for our All Age mens or women's teams that you contact the Competition Secretary through this page to ascertain team numbers before completing your registration. Juniors may continue to register as normal. Senior teams that still have vacancies are below.... AA5 - are looking for a GK, fullback and a striker. Mens Waratah League - still have room for a few players, especially if you are 23 or under. Trials are essential. U16G - have room for a few more girls who are aged 14,15 or 16 this year. Please send a message and I will pass your details on to the relevant teams cheers Lindy

12.01.2022 And we are back.. U10s finally get into the field after a crazy start to the season..

11.01.2022 Another season comes to an end! It certainly was a tumultuous time for the committee, players and parents alike! I for one never want to play another double header again Thankyou to everyone who supported our club this year and especially to our new players.... Time for a shorter than usual break before we do it all again in 2021! Individual teams have arranged their end of year activity so talk to your coach/manager to see what you’ll be doing Hope to see everyone back again next year!!!! Cheers Lindy

10.01.2022 Awesome game tonight by the AA11s coming away with a 1-0 win against Jammo! The boys showed absolute grit and determination until the final whistle. Special mention to Graeme for his perfect goal from a corner and great in goals was Matt with some fantastic saves . Kens miss at an unmanned goal from 2 feet rounded the game off beautifully and gave everyone a good laugh

10.01.2022 Just did another check of the fields. Field 2 is definitely out until at least Tuesday maybe longer. Field 1 is soft underfoot and wont take much to seem that unplayable. NFA are currently in the process of trying to finalise weekend fixtures so at this stage please be patient. And dont ask if your game.is on and where as once we know we will let you know. Have to love 2020

10.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all our players and our dads who support their kids with their soccer - especially today to those giving up their usual day off due to the extended season

10.01.2022 Update to Village Oval Jordan Springs Joeys FC Here we go with our current update pertaining to the issue surrounding Village Oval and the official ‘Move In’ day for the Club. I spoke to PCC and have been advised that this week they will be conducting 3 small excavations on Village Oval (1 on the playing strip and 2 off to the side) These will be remediated at the completion of the excavation.... PCC and NFA are still looking at us having ownership of Village Oval early May 21 with some further work on the amenities to be conducted around the season and afterwards (this will not interfere with Training or Games). I continue to hassle PCC, as does NFA, weekly on this ongoing issue and ensure you both NFA and PCC are working tirelessly to get us into Village Oval. I will continue to update you all so that you know exactly where we stand with this matter so that we can finally get into a smoother season of soccer at our new home grounds. I once again I ask each of you to bear with us and please do not blame your Committee over this matter as they are just as frustrated as some of you. Finally, good luck to all our Junior Teams this weekend with Round 1 of the season. We are looking forward to seeing all the kids running around the fields reminding us why we, as a Committee, do this. Ken Fenton President Jordan Springs Joeys FC

08.01.2022 Due to the fields resembling a swimming pool there will be NO training this week. They will be reassessed on Friday before the weekends games

08.01.2022 Up and running for Round 1 of JSJFC juniors for 2021!!!! Good luck to all our Junior teams today! Have fun!

08.01.2022 Game Day! Our Waratah League has their first game today vs Glenmore Park at Mulgoa Rise! Reserves kick off at 3pm with the main game at 5 I encourage everyone to come down and support our boys

06.01.2022 I wont have a chance to check the fields today so we are opening them under the assumption that teams will avoid any boggy areas and stay out of the goal mouths. We have all our senior teams at home this week and dont want the fields made too dangerous for them to play

06.01.2022 Feel free to share!

05.01.2022 We have several vacancies in our 2 x U11 teams. If you know of anyone (boys or girls) who fit this age group and would like to play tell them to contact us through the page or register asap

05.01.2022 We will be opening our Registrations on the 11th January as we still have a few things to sort out before our move to Jordan Springs. Please see fees below.........

05.01.2022 Just a reminder with just under 2 weeks to go... Its that time of year again! AGM It will be held on Monday 2nd November at the club - 7.00pm... We are hoping for lots of nominations for committee positions at the AGM. There are lots of positions which do not take up a lot of time as I know we are all busy with work/family. You don't have to have experience to join the team - we all started off knowing very little of what was required in the roles. We currently have a great team, however can always use more people. Any financial member (which includes players or parents of junior players are eligible to join the committee) All current position holders will vacate their positions at the AGM, so if you feel you would like to have a go at a position that is currently filled please go for it! If two or more nominate for the same position it will go to a silent vote by club members in attendance during the AGM. The available positions are listed below; 1. President 2. Vice president 3. Treasurer/Public Offr 4. Secretary 5. Competition Secretary 6. The Registrar 7. The Mini Teams Coordinator 8. Equipment Officer 9. Grounds Manager 10. Director of Coaching 11. The Member Protection Information Officer (equity officer) 13. Marketing/Communication Officer (website/sponsorship) 14. Fundraising Coordinator 15. Canteen Manager 16. General Committee. If you would like a 'position description' of a particular role let me know and I can send it to you. Any new business you want to raise at the AGM must be submitted in writing NLT 1 week prior to the meeting (26 Oct). Nominations prior to the AGM can be submitted to the secretary via email to [email protected] or can be accepted on the day. Have a think about it as our club is only as strong as the members who support it! Thanks Lindy
