23.01.2022 Gid-Day everyone, hope you are all well as hopefully we are coming out of lock down slowly. I wrote this poem about the Corona Virus, hope you get a laugh.. Cheers Have a Corona by John Bidgood 2020 On a dark, stormy night, on a hot summer’s day... Corona virus from China was to Australia on the way Some said it came from markets, after eating a bat Some said it came from a lab to cut some world fat Over the seas it came carried by people, boats and planes Our Government shut the boarders a bit late, what a shame So, we fight a silent war, can`t see or hear the foe But once Corona hit Australia it was go, go, go They put us into lock-down, shut cafes, clubs and pubs Made us all stay at home, the bloody anti-social grubs Made us give up sport and all the fun things to do Run us out of toilet paper, we could not even poo And when we did, our alternative was newspaper, leaves or grass But none of them felt as soft as tissue paper on your ass (bum) We also emptied the shelves of soap wash, rice and flour We had punch ups in the alley ways as customers got sour The kids all stayed at home to do their online learning The parents becoming teachers, it was most concerning Mum and Dad`s back at school, doing what they do best Educating their children, for them, there is no rest No more money in the pokies, the pubs all shut their doors We all stayed at home and got covered in bed sores No more going to the beach or playing in the park Don`t think of kissing your girlfriend ‘til well after dark They say stay in your suburb or in your own hometown Or the copper will pull you up with a costly sort of frown Thirteen hundred dollars on the ticket he will write So, stay in your bloody house and keep out of sight.

22.01.2022 With heavy hearts we would like to inform you that regrettably we have had to cancel our Inaugural Baralaba Music Muster, (Music on the Dawson) for 28th April t...o 3rd May 2020 til next year. The safety and well-being of the local residents, our patrons and artists who were supporting our Muster are forefront in our minds so feel this is the only option. Am sure you will all understand this decision is for the welfare of many and pray that this horrible virus is under control very soon. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Keep safe and look forward to our Muster in 2021. See more

We can only pray/hope things will slowly progress to normality very soon.....Australia has done so well, but even with a ease on restrictions, everyone still needs to do their part with the hygiene/distancing etc.... Stay safe everyone and hope you enjoy this poem.....cheers

02.01.2022 Morning all.......hope all have been keeping safe and warm. Restrictions are lifting more every day so hopefully will get to see you at a Music Muster very soon. This is one of my latest poems.....hope you get a laugh........cheers But That Is Not All by John Bidgood 2020 I am home in isolation watching my favourite tv shows... When an ad comes on for a ladder, the man says he knows there is no better ladder in the world, the ad man tells us so It goes up and down, in and out, even has stop and go But that is not all, he says, you can lean it on a wall You can put it on a slope, and you will never have a fall But that is not all, he says, it has platforms that are strong You can jump up and down on them and dance all day long But that is not all, he says, there is still more to come To the first fifty callers, we will give a bottle of rum But that is not all, he says, we will also throw in a spanner But if you call us today, we will also give you a hammer But that is not all, he says, there is still more to come Try it in your home for thirty days, don`t sit on your bum But that is not all, he says, if you buy this ladder today, we will give you a second ladder and you don`t have to pay For thirty days you can keep it, to do with as you will But that is not all, he says, we will also give you a drill I thought to myself, I had been thinking of buying a good ladder But your ad has gone on forever, I now have a busting bladder But that is not all, I said, I have now peed all over the floor My wife has picked me up and thrown me out the door But that is not all, I said, you can stuff the ladder up your rear Your ad is so bloody long, I am now at the pub having a beer.

01.01.2022 Thinking of all our service men and women, both past and present.....Thank you all for keeping us safe and living the life we do in this wonderful country. LEST WE FORGET (Apologies for distracting John inbetween the poems as I offered him some water)
