22.01.2022 With the Christmas and New Year holiday period in the rear view mirror, we can now look forward to all that’s to come in 2021! JHP ( and Barry the dog) are refreshed and raring to go with all your plumbing and mini-excavation jobs. Feel free to give us a call on 0412659375 to discuss your needs.

20.01.2022 Done and Dusted, twelve weeks of pedalling afternoons after work and weekend morning rides has come to an end with a total of 3007 kilometres ridden for Tour De Rocks 2019 Thanks to the Armidale Cycling Club and members of the Saturday Crew for keeping me company on many rides. It has been great to see so many others out riding around the area as they prepare for their own challenge and fund raising for Tour De Rocks 2019 that leaves Armidale for South West Rocks next week.... This year has around 350 riders plus support crew are heading down the Big Hill, well done to all involved! Stay safe, enjoy and reflect on what the Tour De Rocks ride means to yourself and others especially those who are battling cancer. Once again thanks to the local businesses and supporters that have sponsored my riding over the twelve weeks. It has been greatly appreciated by Deb and myself and the Tour De Rocks 2019 fund raising ride. To capture this sunset picture makes riding nearly enjoyable. See more

19.01.2022 Winter has finally arrived and has brought a cold snap and a couple of decent frosts. You can refer back to a post I put up last winter regarding some handy tips for the frosty season. Water restrictions are also now in place for the Armidale area as the drought shows no sign of letting up. We can all play our part with water saving by fixing leaking taps, toilet cisterns and keeping an eye on any wet patches that appear in yards as this probably indicates a leak in the wat...er pipe. JHP can help you out with any of the above jobs. We have been busy with the little machines replacing drainage, stormwater lines and water line replacements. As water restrictions have meant that watering the lawn and garden is no longer really possible, people have started to mulch areas in their yards. We have the right machines to pick up, deliver and spread mulch in your yards. Just give us a call or send a message. Stay warm and let’s hope some rain will fall. See more

18.01.2022 YOU BLOODY BEAUTY!

18.01.2022 BACKFLOW DEVICES? Armidale Regional Council have been updating their database on all Backflow Devices within the local government area. This means you may have received notification to have your Backflow Device tested. If you received notification for testing then JHP can provide this service. ... What is a Backflow Device?: It is a device to prevent the reverse flow of water from a potentially polluted source into a potable water supply system. Who may have or need a Backflow Device?: Hotels, restaurants, aged care facilities, industrial areas, service stations, fire fighting and sprinkler systems and livestock facilities are just a few to mention. JHP can also repair and replace parts in these devices. There are many different brands and suppliers we can source these parts from. Xmas is fast approaching and along with it an end to 2020. 2020 has been an unusual year and one that will be remembered for years to come. JHP would once again like to thank our valued clients that have used our services. Over the past year we hope that JHP have provided you with a reliable and professional service. From February 2021, John Hiscox Plumbing and Mitchell Hiscox Plumbing will be working together. Mitchell will be returning to Armidale after 2 years plumbing in Melbourne. Working together will be a great addition to the service we can provide. With over 50 years of varied and valuable experience between us both. JHP will be closing from Wednesday 23rd December until 12th January 2021. We look forward to working with you in 2021, have a safe and above all happy break! John and Deb Hiscox.

16.01.2022 Summer 2018/2019 has come and gone and left the area in a terrible dry state and it does not look like improving in the near future. I’ve lived here all my life and cannot remember it being this dry. Deb and myself would like to thank all who have used our services recently and would just like to pass on our best wishes to those who rely solely on the weather for their livelihood. With the fund raising ride I have been ‘attempting ‘ over the last 7 weeks for Tour De Rocks ...a grand total of 1614.87 kilometres have been completed. I have to make special mention to Mark & Helen Smith from Tritech Security, Stephen & Paula Goode, Mitch Hiscox, Peter & Kris Baillie and Stephen & Tess Ramage from Ray White Real Estate who have all given a very generous sponsorship. Their sponsorship is greatly appreciated and creates an added incentive to pedal a few kilometres more. Here are a few pics on some of the rides. See more

16.01.2022 Mitch is back!!! And it’s great to working alongside him after a two year break. I am glad to see that my 289 phone calls and texts asking ( pleading) him to return to Armidale paid off. Now that Mitch has returned we are able to offer a faster response time to your plumbing needs. Plumbing for house extensions, bathroom renovations, stormwater and drainage replacements are Mitch’s specialties. The Mighty Midget Machines of JHP have been hard at work in recent times. ... Many thanks to local Plumbers, Builders and Electrical contractors who have been using our services for those narrow access jobs where they previously would have had to excavate manually. A front and backyard re-turf and re-level was one of our recent jobs. See more

12.01.2022 It was a pleasure to work with Tritech Security at the fantastic new playground in Curtis Park. Our machinery and equipment helped to excavate the site for the installation of the security equipment.

10.01.2022 Well done to the Hay Runners. Unbelievable effort. 170 plus trucks at the Armidale showground. We do live in a great country

08.01.2022 Level 5 water restrictions have now been implemented by the Armidale Regional Council. Council are offering rebates on water audits, installation of water saving devices and rainwater tanks up to 9999 litres. You must be connected to Mains water supply and use a licensed plumber. All the information is available on the Armidale Regional Council website. With no decent rain forecast in the near future it means high level water restrictions will not be eased for sometime.... The installation of a rainwater tank will benefit you by keeping your pot plants alive over summer if we have more storms. For example 5000 litres won’t go far on a lawn but it does hold 500 buckets of water for use on those potted plants and shrubs. To work out how much water you can collect: Measure the roofs square meters that fall to the down pipe For every 1 millimeter of rain that falls on that square meter you will collect 1 litre of water. Find a rainwater tank that will suit the area you have available as many different shapes and sizes are now manufactured. With our narrow access machines JHP can supply and install your new tank. Contact us on 0412659375. Fingers crossed it rains soon! See more

07.01.2022 It’s Xmas time... again! I love this time of year as friends and families we get together have a few ‘frosty’ cold ones and eat way too much. This year is a little different with the ongoing drought and bush fires that have a strangle hold on the New England region. I can’t really imagine what it would be like to have both drought and fires consume your property and home and hopefully I never do. Plenty of people have been impacted recently and if there is one thing that N...ew Englanders do and do well is give. Below we are sharing the Tour De Rocks post which has a link where you can donate to the Willawarrin and Bellbrook areas that have been affected by the recent fires. JHP would like to thank all our valued clients that have used our services over 2019, we wish you all a safe, merry and hopefully WET Xmas and look forward to working with you all in 2020.

03.01.2022 Drought, bushfires and Coronavirus and that’s only in 1 year! It’s a weird old world we live in but I’m glad we live in Australia and in particular the New England area. Five months into the year and already JHP has been kept extremely busy by our great clients, new and old ones. The council rebates for water tanks have proved to be a success as many have taken up the offer and have now given themselves a backup for maintaining plants and gardens. The little machines have ...proven themselves in the tight access areas. Here are a few pics of some installations. Once again we thank you for using our services it has been greatly appreciated through these trying times. Keep well and stay safe. See more
