24.01.2022 Love it when I find Tongan Rugby players in France.... Ephraim and Thomas were awesome! Ifa coaches Beaune rugby south of Dijon. These guys were awesome!

20.01.2022 My second container of French Antiques arrives today.. make sure you get in soon as there are some amazing pieces at amazing prices!! SEPTEMBER ONLY! Strategically placing an antique piece and it becomes a work of art in a modern setting.....There are many happy customers whom are very creative. Bev here upholstered the backs of her louis XV armchairs with some serviettes I had from an estate in Dijon where there were 30 linen sheets and dozens of different table cloths and serviettes, pillow cases and cushion covers...large Hemp dining tablecloths even red and white linnen doona covers!! Then she purchased a Petrin, dough bin in Oak and Fruitwood. She simply placed the lid on the legs removing the middle and created a mid 19th century coffee table that never existed......... www.treasurehouse.com.au

19.01.2022 Ok container arrived and was unpacked today, Friday the 26th of July. Sale will begin on Saturday the 3rd of August! Photos to come....

13.01.2022 You wouldn’t believe it but I found Tongans to help with the lifting........ rockin Maroccans, a Vietnamese/ French doctor and one mad Madagascan..........

13.01.2022 Some more photos of last week's loading. In this small space I was able to add 4 more delicate tables with the legs passing over the other one at a time!

09.01.2022 Dear folks, the Antique market is just getting better and better. I am terribly sorry that Antiques are going out of fashion....................................................................... I was in Chartres, France last month, and a family friend (retired Antiques dealer) purchased for herself from the auctions a Stunning 'PERIOD' (c 1770), Louis XVI, small ladies, marquetry, cylinder top desk with bronze ormolu, that needed restoration...... She was jumping to show it... to me. How much did she pay.... 700 euros (AUD$1100), and no I am not joking? I am never worried about falling prices as they were always of a much greater 'real' value even when they were at their peak! This means that the quality of the piece, the materials used and experience of the cabinetmaker are exceptional and cannot be reproduced today! There are no longer skilled cabinet makers out there, my father, John Henry Meyer snr being one of the last of his generation. The result is always exceptional with a piece that can blow away anything of the modern furniture we are seeing today or the industrial furniture that is in fashion! Don't be mistaken that there are no good modern designs or good quality pieces from the second half of the 20th century, but the soul of a good antique, the character and the touch of the wood and the patina of the original finish....... it is you whom love antiques that can appreciated what I am saying........each piece has a soul! I can look at the pieces in my house and derive incredible joy from just seeing them. This lady's desk would have sold in Sydney for approximately $7000 AUD (4400 euros) in the year 2000..........(if it had a known signature or cabinet makers stamp it can fetch up to 10x that price), If I had purchased it and brought it back to Australia for the French Antiques Exhibition Sale, I would be able to put a price of $2500 on it (1600 euros)? That's a third of the value at that time!!! To have such intense quality and beauty from the actual period of King Louis XVI of France at such incredible prices can only be explained in terms of.. Trump being the President of America??

09.01.2022 Ok, I am very proud of this loading, 16 tables in the space of the largest one! and plenty more. Only trouble now is the quarantine have ordered yesterday the "unpack and inspect" to check the timber out, even though the entire container will be fumigated, just like the last 12 times........ as by law. Why not unpack it at 3 burnt St, my shop, where they can have a look at everything as I carefully un-weave it and have it at my shop at the same time!!!! Everybody wins............ https://photos.app.goo.gl/y8vhdPPbKncrqZZv5

07.01.2022 Dear Customers how are you? I am in great form and am still loaded with French antiques in Dijon France but will not be sending a container for 2018! The container must be sent by the beginning of June to arrive in July and then unloaded and organised for an exhibition in the shop for August. I have some wonderful French Antiques and objects of art, and will work towards next year (as I said last year?) but need to move the stock this time. But I believe now that I know my kn...ee situation, that I will be organizing things differently this particular exhibition. I have been spending a lot of time with the family and it is quite amazing how much I have been missing out on. Vincent is now 9 and doing dance 3 times a week! Julia is 7 doing gymnastics as well as learning the violin! (actually the viola) They are both doing wrestling. I am having quality time with them that would not have been possible if I had continued my work. I am very much enjoying this time off, that I have not experienced since I left Australia in 2005, but at the same time I am missing the work! I have continued my physio therapy to the letter but unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that my knee joint is weak? I will just be paying someone else to do the physical work. Luckily my wife has used this opportunity to get me to do all those jobs at home that she has patiently been waiting for me to do... forever!! I thought very much about selling objects of art only over the antique furniture, but that has been my core business all my life. It also makes a huge difference to have them displayed together. Julie Singe is a brilliant interior designer and makes the exhibitions look absolutely stunning. But I will return.............For those who have had the experience of the French Antiques Exhibition sales please do not hesitate to leave your opinion or even your experience! This is the direct link to the google business tour from the 2015 sale. https://goo.gl/CTRhsq

05.01.2022 Well I am glad that is over... I mean the month of August! Now I can breathe easy as it would have been over anyway! Thank you so much for all your well wishes! Hopefully I will see you next year!

05.01.2022 Ok started well.......just got to keep going. This is the greatest game of Tetris, pieces that are every different size and shape packed into a sardine can! Petit ta petit.....

04.01.2022 Well I am looking forward to another French Antiques Exhibition sale in Sydney............

04.01.2022 Packing packing packing, Loading loading load. It's on again
