14.01.2022 We all need a little more love at the moment. It’s hard not to get down when you’re in lockdown, but it’s the little things that brighten each day during this time. Bread! Bread was the only thing we found ourselves having to go out for outside our weekly shop. So hubby has a new skill, and found a new talent for bread-making. And he’s SO GOOD. #soclever THIS is todays creation. Made with love and definitely made me smile. Ben is absolutely chief bread maker in our household from now on.

13.01.2022 Couch, sofa loungesuite... whatever you call it, it’s something that has taken up a lot of my scrolling time of late. The design for our properties calls for quite a small sofa, but finding one that will fit that is a. Stylish b. Comfortable 3. Cost effective is proving a lot more difficult that I thought it would be. Now I’m pretty sure I’ve searched everywhere there is to search (and I have found a few) BUT just in case any one out there in insta land has some sofa... secrets they’d like to share with me, I thought I’d put the call out!? 09.01.2022 My 4 little cherubs idolize this guy... (so do I ) he’s our home, our safety, just like he should be. A superhero on a daily basis, through simple acts like picking them up after a fall, kissing a bruised knee, holding their hand to give them that little bit of extra courage, or playing with them their favorite game (over and over and over again!). There was most definitely some burnt toast and bacon for breakfast in bed, and quite possibly the worst coffee he’s ...ever had - a pile of handmade cards and messages, plus the obligatory socks and jocks but he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! Fathers Day this year may mean a few extra zoom calls for those that can’t be with theirs, or for people like me who lost my Dad last year, a few tears shed while remembering the good times. However your day looks, if you’re a dad, hoping to be a dad soon, have your dad (or someone special who has been like a dad to you) or have lost your dad - we’re wishing you a very happy day! 09.01.2022 So we had another meeting with our architects the other night to make some more small amendments and layout changes. Some tweaks if you will. (So close, yet still so far!) We’ve decided to ditch the overhead kitchen cabinets and replace them with a timber shelf instead. Being holiday accommodation, they don’t need as much storage as they would if someone were living in them. Not to mention it creates a super lovely styling space?! 07.01.2022 Back in lockdown and back to home schooling! As us Melbournians enter our second lockdown, and second round of homeschooling, it means having the 4 kids home, all day. everyday.. and having to stay at home, which also means Covid has once again slightly stalled our building plans. It seems I won’t be able to get out and about to check out finishes and fittings as I’d planned to over the next few weeks - so I’ll need to find other ways to stay productive and keep this p...roject ticking along. We’re also currently waiting on some quotes to come back from a few Builders, and once we have these, at least we’ll know a little more about where we stand and where we can head to from there. There really is a lot of patience needed in this building game!! It feels like a lifetime ago since we first saw these renders and our dream leapt off the paper and started to inch a little closer to becoming reality.. Although, I have to say, I am actually grateful for some of these delays. I really feel for everyone trying to run accommodation businesses at the moment. 06.01.2022 Gin tasting sessions via Zoom with @glenbosch. Way to make the most of Covid lockdown!! May as well try and enjoy ourselves and support the locals while we’re at it! If you’re looking for a great virtual experience check out Victoria’s High Country website - there’s a heap to choose from!! Thanks so much Dirk, it was an absolute pleasure! When we get to Beechworth, we will most definitely call in and say hi..... and drink some of that delicious gin while we’re there!!
