24.01.2022 | It is with great sadness that we advise the passing of one of the founding staff members of John Edmondson High School. Ms Renata Simson passed away on Saturday, 21 November 2020. Ms Simson was a member of the Science faculty, retiring in 2011 to focus on her health and the battle with cancer which eventually took her life. She will fondly be remembered as a dedicated, loving and caring teacher and she will be sorely missed.

24.01.2022 | Unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are not able to offer our usual orientation day for our incoming Year 7 students. We will organise orientation activities for them in the first week of next year.

24.01.2022 @ | In light of the recent announcement by NSW Health regarding a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the venue for our weekly Year 9 sport, JEHS staff have made the decision to cancel Year 9 students leaving the school grounds to attend sport at Flip Out tomorrow. This decision has been made in the best interest of all involved. All students will participate in an alternative sport and are still required to bring appropriate sports uniforms.

21.01.2022 | Congratulations to our Vocation Education & Learning Team who won the NSW Department of Education 2020 VET School Of The Year. Thanks to all VET Teachers & Students. AT JEHS we have 91 students studying VET in Year 11 and 47 in Year 12, across 7 different VET subjects including:... - Business Services - Construction - Engineering & Manufacturing - Entertainment - Hospitality - Kitchen Operations - Hospitality - Food & Beverage - Information Digital Technology Every VET teacher has to engage in industry each year to keep their qualification, attend meetings, complete mountains of paperwork and undertake regular training updates. JEHS has been lucky enough to have a fantastic group of teachers who go above and beyond to give some of our senior students an alternative option to the more traditional route. We now deliver 7 VET subjects to provide students with a wide range of options. A huge thanks and congratulations to our current 2020 teachers: Monia Khanna, Shaun Lockard, Anil Dass, Alex Gardiner, Meg Day, Stephen Gummerson, Jatinder Singh, Cathy Harper and Rebecca Lipari. Along with our Careers Adviser, Kimmy Tran who deals with all of our work placements, SBATs and TAFE options and provides significant pathways to our students. And a special thanks to Deb Owen for her amazing work as our designated SASS VET legend! A massive thank you and congratulations must also go to Mr Oliver Claydon, our JEHS VET Co-ordinator. His passion and commitment to the program is what has made this award possible. 21.01.2022 | Tomorrow is the annual Wear It Purple Day. It is a LGBTIQA+ awareness day, celebrating diversity and showing that we are inclusive of our LGBTIQA+ community here at JEHS. Students MUST wear their full school uniform, but are allowed to accessorise with PURPLE items, such as bandanas, socks, wrist bands, etc.

14.01.2022 | - Recently a number of students attended a presentation by Maxima Group Australia. Maxima is a leading Group Training Organisation managing the recruitment, placement and ongoing support of apprentices and trainees on behalf of host employers. Maxima offers school-based apprenticeships and traineeships to senior students, allowing them to combine their secondary school studies with paid employment as an apprentice or t...rainee (-- ) and off-the-job training. Several students expressed interest and we wish them luck in the next phase of the selection process.

12.01.2022 - | At JEHS we are carefully following the latest guidelines put in place by NSW Health regarding COVID-19. This is to ensure we keep our students and wider community safe. Please take note of some important changes that may affect you. Parents/Carers are reminded to send children to school if they are unwell, even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms.... Please notify the school if your child is going to undergo a COVID-19 test. If your child presents at school unwell or has flu-like symptoms, arrangements will be made for them to be sent home. Students with flu-like symptoms will need to provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test result by email to -.@... before being permitted to return to school. Please keep visits to the school to a minimum during these unprecedented times. If you must attend the school, you will be required to complete a visitors declaration form, which will assist if any future contact tracing is required. Important face-to-face meetings will still continue when absolutely necessary, with all precautions taken to ensure the safety of all involved. We thank you for your understanding.
