25.01.2022 Dr. Helen Thomson Trained in cardiology at The Prince Charles Hospital and was awarded the Prince Charles Clinical Fellowship and NH&MRC Postgraduate scholarships to complete a PhD at the University of Queensland in Baroreceptor function in health and disease. Further post graduate fellowship was obtained in an Advance Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic USA. Dr. Thomson has appointments at the Alfred Hospital, and has joined The Heart Specialists as a non invasive cardiologist with excellent clinical and research credentials in cardiac ultrasound and stress echocardiography.



24.01.2022 Associate Professor Rod Warren has been the director of Interventional Cardiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital for 20 years. Having trained at Royal Melbourne, undertaken a PhD at the Baker Institute and advanced angioplasty training in the United States. He has performed more than 50000 procedures and has been instrumental in developing the acute infarct service at Royal Melbourne and Melbourne Private hospitals. He has trained many interventional cardiologists both locally and from overseas and the units have achieved outstanding results for re-vascularisation either by stent or bypass surgery. He also provides a service to country centres and interstate in Tasmania.

22.01.2022 Associate Professor James Wong - is the Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory and Heart failure specialist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1985 with honours in Medicine and Surgery. Trained in cardiology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and was awarded a National Heart Foundation scholarship to complete a PhD in vascular biology at the Baker Medical Research Institute. Post graduate training was obtained in an Advance Ca...rdiac Imaging Fellowship in the Cardiovascular Imaging Laboratory at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio USA. He won first prize in the advanced fellow's research award for two successive years at the Cleveland Clinic, first prize at the Ohio Chapter of the ACC Young Investigators award in 1997, first prize in the Young Investigators Award of the American Society of Echocardiograpy 1998 for work on ultrasound facilitated gene therapy. 19.01.2022 Dr Daniel Doyle Graduated from Melbourne University in 1973 with honours and equal first in Medicine, Cardiology training was at St Vincent’s and Prince Henry’s Hospital. Postgraduate studies were completed at the Department of Medicine Vincent's and St Vincent’s School of Medical Research as a National Heart Foundation Research Scholar then Canadian Heart Foundation Research Fellow at Mc Master University Ontario Canada. He established his clinical practice at Sacred Hear...t Hospital in 1984 and has been the director of the initial Critical Care Unit and subsequently Coronary Care.He established John Fawkner Cardiology with Roderic Warren and developed cardiac testing at Sacred Heart Hospital and John Fawkner Hospital.More recently he developed CT coronary Angiography (CTCA) in association with i-Med and as level B specialist in CTCA provides high quality studies. Since 2000 he has travelled widely in Africa assessing health projects for Edmund Rice Foundation Australia and recently facilitated a major solar energy project at St Therese Hospital South Sudan.
