22.01.2022 Before and After - Beachside Estate Yaroomba Sunshine Coast.

22.01.2022 Coolum Beach Reno Project - A wonderful client is allowing us to transform a space in their garden, what was a nice outlook from the inside ( tropical outlook ) it simply didn't provide the client the use of this space in anyway, the brief was to include a usable space to entertain or simply relax, a outdoor cooking area was also required, the soft landscape theme will include bold plantings that will enforce and define the outdoor seating area with a combination of feature m...agnolia teddy bears, clipped buxus balls, dwarf hedging and season herbs for the conscientious keto chef. Polished concrete pads will allow the user to move around in this space, these pads will be softened by mini mondo grass inserts, our outdoor cooking space will consist of a polished concrete bench top that will house the webber and a wood fired pizza oven. Will load the finished product as soon as this project is completed. See more

21.01.2022 Victorian Project Stage 2 - Renovation of an existing rose garden, The idea behind this renovation was to create a central feature as you enter this prestigious property, existing roses had to be cut back, labeled for colour, removed and transplanted so that they can be replanted. The next stage was to set out this impressive structure,50m long by 12m wide at the widest point, Ironbark timber was selected for its beauty and its sheer resilience, this structure will naturally... turn to a beautiful silver grey in time, 200 x 200mm post and 200 x 75mm rails have been installed, 6mm corten plates and brackets combined with 24mm threaded rod will hold this beast together for the next 100 years. A central entertaining area has been designed for functions and viewing of the thoroughbred horses. Existing roses will be replanted into a more desirable colour pallette, surrounded by english box hedging and a classic wisteria vine so that it can wrap itself around this beast of a structure. Granitic sand pathways and seating will provide the visitor access to this new and exciting stage. Two weeks completed and we are well on the way to completing this stage, A few photos of before and during construction of the pergola, will post a few more as the landscape progresses. See more

21.01.2022 LANDSCAPE FEATURE #001- We have been privileged to work on a number of outstanding projects over the last 18 years on the Sunshine Coast, Leading Architects from Chris Clout, Tim Ditchfield and Peter Hull have produced award winning homes for many years, we have been fortunate to work with them and enjoyed the entire process. We will present a Landscape feature each week, hoping to inspire the home owner with a few ideas. Landscape Feature #001 - Beach House Architect - Tim D...itchfield Builder - Chris Smith Construction As many will find its hard to grow plants in the sand, the secret look whats growing in your street and stick to it, the harsh environment of salty winds will decimate any plant that is not built to withstand these winds. Landscape Tip - Select only a handful of plant species but plant lots of them. Enjoy the pictures and feel free to ask as many questions as you like. Landscape Feature #001 - Consists of simple grey concrete stepping stones, these stepping stones have been polished and acid etched, the outdoor shower, and suitable plantings that consist of Pandanus, Lomandra, and the hardy desert star. Pots are Fibrestone- natural grey, plants consist of the Fraser Island apple and a bowl of no mow grass. The theme is a silver grey tone, less is more and easy care, enjoy. Regards John

01.01.2022 Ensure your Landscape Contractor is licensed, if you are unsure if your contractor is licensed you can check via the qbcc website, www.qbcc.qld.gov.au its simple and very fast. Any construction work such as paving, retaining walls, timber decks, drainage, and irrigation to the value of $3300.00 including GST must be carried out by a licensed contractor. Employing a licensed contractor will provide you with the security that they poses the relevant qualifications, experience a...nd meet the financial requirements to carry out this work. If you have found yourself with issues relating to work that has been carried out and its not to your satisfaction and they are not licensed then its extremely hard for the qbcc to assist with having the work rectified. Support the trades that are licensed.
