24.01.2022 NEW PROPOSED SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED Official release - Valvoline Raceway May 18, 2020 Due to the unprecedented times we are in and to quell any concerns that may b...e circulating about next season’s calendar shortly this is the new proposed schedule that is planned at Valvoline Raceway. The 2020/21 season will be the final season to be run at the iconic Parramatta venue and boasts a full calendar highlighted by 3 Australian Titles, 7 NSW Titles , a 22 round USC Championship, The USC Speedweek and the USC Nationals to name a few. The season is scheduled to start on the 3rd October and run through until the final double header weekend. There are also a number of exciting plans which will play out during the season and be released at a later date. As exciting as the season looks we must be aware that sporting events will be governed by any limitations or restrictions that the Government deems necessary during the COVID-19 pandemic - naturally. After many discussions with management they want to make sure that it is a very clear in the commitment from both Barry and Felicity Waldron to a season finale that honours Valvoline Raceway’s history and legacy as it deserves. The plans are to make the season remarkable on many levels. (Of course this is dependent on Government Legislation). Please remember that the calendar will be subject to change and as the season gets closer and it is clearer on how the venue can conducted race events, discussions will take place with clubs as to the possible changes or make up will take place prior to any of the proposed race schedule. Thank you, we hope that you are all safe and well and that everyone is doing their best to limit the spread of the virus. Let's stay apart so that hopefully soon we can race together! 21.01.2022 IMPORTANT STEP FORWARD FOR NEW SYDNEY SPEEDWAY Today the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the new Sydney International Speedway at Eastern Creek was sub...mitted to the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment, marking an important step in the project’s progress. Subject to planning approvals, construction of the speedway is planned to start later this year and is expected to be completed by the start of the speedway racing season in 2021/22. The proposed venue comprises a 460m clay track with a 345m motorcycle speedway circuit on the infield. The outer track replicates the existing size and shape at Parramatta (incorporating the latest safety features), while the latter is built to international specifications and is capable of hosting everything from Speedway GP down to grassroots motorcycle speedway, karting and vintage classes. A virtual information room displaying key aspects of the project, the EIS documents, video featuring information from industry specialists and a full 360 degree view of the proposed speedway is now available to view at sydneymetro.info/speedwayvirtual Submissions on the EIS can be made directly to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment by Wednesday 16 September 2020. Speedway Australia Chairman Guy Thompson was enthusiastic. We get to see the proposed plans at the same time as everyone else but are confident that this will be a world class facility. We appreciate the fact that Sydney Metro have liaised with us to ensure the venue is built to Speedway Australia’s five star safety rating. In terms of the final design this is a massive opportunity that the New South Wales government has given us as a sport and we should utilise the fact that they are fast tracking the planning process to help make the venue as good as it can be. It’s important that anyone with constructive feedback gets in touch with the government via the appropriate channels by the September 16 deadline. Sprintcar Control Council of Australia President Kathy Kelly was also buoyant. While it’s sad to lose the history and atmosphere of the current venue, it’s great that Sprintcar racing in New South Wales will soon have a modern new home. Sydney set the standard for Sprintcar racing in Australia when the current venue was built, and will do so again at Eastern Creek from next year. This is an exciting new era for our sport! Motorcycling NSW Ltd also said "we are enthusiastic to see the proposed plans and are certain this will be a world class facility that can be utilised by our clubs and members in the future. It is promising to see the investment the NSW Government plans to make over the next few years to ensure Motorsports continue to grow within the urban environment". More information about the Sydney International Speedway project can be found on the Sydney Metro website. If you have any difficulties accessing information or would like to speak to a member of the project team, please contact Sydney Metro West via email at: [email protected] or by calling 1800 612 173.

01.01.2022 NEW SYDNEY SPEEDWAY APPROVED Speedway fans have received some great news recently with final planning approval received for the new Sydney International Speedwa...y. This means that full construction began on January 4 as planned, with the venue set to open at the start of the 2021/22 season. Key benefits of the project were identified as: - The creation of a Motorplex for the NSW motorsport racing community A new world class speedway to cater for local, regional, national, and international racing events to grow speedway racing in NSW Allowing for speedway racing to relocate before removal of the current speedway facility at Clyde is resumed for Sydney Metro West construction (if approved) Supporting the operation of existing commercial facilities within the Western Sydney Parklands Precinct 5: Eastern Creek Motor Sports. The last new two speedway builds in the Southern Hemisphere took 5 and 6 years respectively to get through the planning process, so for Sydney Metro to achieve this in 12 months is a fantastic achievement. Specific approval can be found here: https://majorprojects.planningportal.nsw.gov.au//getConten Overview of all documentation can be found here: https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/major-projects//30111
