21.01.2022 Even though the JLF will close at the end of the month, we continue to receive requests from doctors for financial assistance for their patients. We are still providing 'Gifts of Hope' and will continue to do so as long as our resources allow us. What we do is unique for Australians with GI cancer; giving families more time with their loved ones and making the most of living. You can still make a contribution before 30 September. Thank you again for your support of the John L...ogan Foundation. What we have achieved could not have been accomplished without you. 18.01.2022 City dwellers, here are some great walks to get active this weekend.

17.01.2022 Bristol-Myers Squibb went before a specially convened meeting of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee on Friday, making the claim that Australian cancer patients are being forced to wait up to 18 months for affordable access to life-saving cancer drugs because the regulatory system has not kept up with advancement in immuno-oncology treatments. They were pushing a proposed pilot program to cut waiting periods down to about three months.

14.01.2022 Just a reminder that this is happening tomorrow, Saturday, 25 August:

12.01.2022 TO OUR LOYAL FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS... Over the last eight years, the John Logan Foundation has helped 420 Australians with cancer, providing more than $1.2million in ‘Gift of Hope’ grants towards non-PBS treatments. From its inception, the Board has taken the view to support as many people as possible; in turn, giving each person hope for more time with their family and friends, more memories, more living.... With significant positive changes to the medications now available on the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme, the Board has made the difficult decision to close the Foundation. The JLF has been fortunate to receive support from different Australian industry sectors over the years. The Gift and Homewares industry members, many of whom knew John Logan personally, have been a mainstay and this support grew exponentially over time. We would also like to acknowledge the support from pharmaceutical companies and other medical services who have partnered with us to ease the process for those in need. More than 150 clinicians have requested assistance for their patients since 2010. To efficiently process these applications, the JLF has benefited from the long-standing dedication of our independent Medical Advisory Panel, a select group of volunteer medical professionals who assessed patient applications with expertise, discretion and speed. Ultimately, our work would not have been possible without the generosity of individuals in the community. The Board is sincerely appreciative of all the monetary contributions received, as well as those who have volunteered their time, knowledge and energy to achieve our mission. On behalf of the Logan family, we are amazed and incredibly proud that the JLF was able to help so many people in our dear John’s honour. John was very special to usl and the family will be forever grateful to all those who contributed to making the JLF an undeniable success. To manage our final round of ‘Gifts of Hope,’ we will accept donations* until Sunday, 30 September. Online donations can be made at our website, http://johnloganfoundation.com.au/donate-to-john-logan-fou/. After we have fulfilled our commitments, any surplus assets will be distributed to the GI Cancer Institute (GI Cancer Institute). The GI Cancer Institute is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Gastrointestinal cancer patients, developing clinical trials to improve the wellbeing of these people. Thank you for your support of the John Logan Foundation. There have been many in need, we have helped as many as we can and you have made the difference. Your sincerely, Jarrod Logan Chairman

11.01.2022 Peace, love and mung bean soup! Thought we would squeeze in one more hearty and nutritious soup (that is a meal in itself) before Spring arrives.
