25.01.2022 Time for an update on how we are now going to tackle the latest Covid roadmap setback. Our expected re-opening date has been pushed back by another week by the Government today, so the revised situation is this. We will return on Monday the 2nd November for the full week to 6th November and will be then closing and moving our business to Drysdale on the Bellarine Peninsula, reopening hopefully within a couple of weeks from then. We have no exact opening time at this stage as ...the premises we are moving into is still being renovated and I don't have a guaranteed time from them. I will give you all more info on the new way I will be working in the next week or two, today is more about reassuring those with work with us now not to worry. From the 26th October we are happy for those that want it to offer a 'click and collect' scenario strictly by appointment. You can contact me either here via inbox or email me at the following to arrange a day/time for collection. [email protected] Goods will need to be paid via bank transfer prior to collection, I will give the bank details upon working out a suitable collection time with you.. If it suits you better to drop into the shop during the last week we are open that is fine, we are just trying to give you all options on getting your goods returned.. If however you cannot get to us before 6th November for whatever reason please communicate with us and we will arrange a suitable situation for you. We know not everyone will be able to fit within this time frame and we apologise sincerely for that, but we are very committed to working with you all to get your pieces back to you. As the shop/workshop needs to be packed up and moved we are now unable to take any work from you prior to the move, I have promised a few people we would do that but with the latest setback we just will not have the time to sit with you and/or to do the jobs however small. Unfortunately there will be a few things not completed for collection prior to moving, again our apologies, it has been an incredibly trying time business wise, but they will be finished in the new workspace and delivered to you if necessary.. Stay safe.

23.01.2022 It's now the time to explain the rebranding of our business and share with you our big news. With Covid shutdowns giving us lots of freedom to think this year, we have decided we are ready for a change. We feel the time is right to make a big move both for us and the business. Some of you will already be aware but just to explain for the others, Carolyn and I have been living between Indented Head and Bacchus Marsh over the last few years, commuting between the two places. We... are now ready to make the permanent move to the Bellarine Peninsula. Please read on as I explain our plans further. Once moved I will still continue to work, I have secured a great space which I will elaborate on in another post this week, it's very exciting and I am looking forward to the new opportunity. As far as 'John McAleer Jewellery Design' is concerned our plan is to re-open the shop on 26th October for 2 weeks before finishing on 6th November, during which time we will be open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm to give maximum time for things to be collected. For those that this time frame doesn't suit we will obviously work with you to return everything after those dates with a delivery place and time that is mutually convenient. I need to emphasise there is absolutely no need for concern about your pieces, they will be completed and returned. Also be assured everything we have made in recent times will still be guaranteed, we are moving not closing. For those that have been emailing and inboxing me over the last weeks and months I am certainly happy to take on work for you with the understanding it will not be collectable from our current premises. So may I again say thank you all for your incredible support over the years, it's been an amazing honour to be trusted and share in so many special times with so many people. We are leaving at the peak of our business, we have never been busier, so with that in mind I hope many will make the trip to our new premises should you need anything made, you will always be welcome and I will always endeavour to make it worth your while. I better close this post up now as I still have much more to say and will do so in follow up posts this week.. Thank you for getting this far John.

13.01.2022 Happy Work Anniversary to me. Today marks the day 36 years ago that I excitedly started my apprenticeship, I really never thought about my future as a Jeweller at the time. You don’t think about how much you’ll enjoy your career and how much you’ll gain from it, the wonderful people that you will cross paths with and become a part of their special occasions. ... So huge huge thanks to all that have entrusted me with such important moments in their lives over the years. I’ve experienced kids growing up and unfortunately people pass away, at the same time many of you have watched me go from a pony tailed young man to a Grandfather, thankfully always with my beautiful wife by my side. To top it all we’ve survived 25 years in our own business, that is a long time. I thank you all for the amazing support. John xx
