25.01.2022 It took us a little while, but you can now ORDER and PAY online (at johnmontagu.com.au) and pick up at your desired time. This includes all our food and shop items during the day and @yanrestaurant food on the evenings they are working. And no commissions to third parties!

17.01.2022 Subs said to be derived from the shape of a submarine, made their mark in American culture around the 1940s. Depending on the region, they were also known as hoagies, heros, po-boys and others, but the reoccurring theme is these large sandwiches were made to provide sustenance for the poorer, working class. Perhaps even more so, the meatball sub was a cheap way to make a tasty sandwich. Minced meat, mixed with spices, was cheap, as was tinned tomatoes that made marinara sauce. While not traditionally Italian, it was the Italian immigrants who brought their knowledge to create this amazing sandwich. Notably, who remembers that Friends episode where Joey confuses a car backfiring with a gunshot, and dives to save Ross instead of Chandler, because Ross is holding a meatball sub? @ John Montagu

17.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: This just keeps getting harder and harder doesnt it? But we need to make changes to limit the spread of this virus while trying our best to stay employed and earning a wage. We have made these changes until the next round of restrictions arrive. 1. Weve limited the amount of seats as per regulations. We will keep this going until further notice 2. We wont be doing table service for now, please order and pay at the counter without cash.... 3. We are only using disposable crockery and cutlery. Single use will limit spreading viruses and allow us to run less staff to stay afloat. 4. Stay tuned for our home delivery services coming this week. Our aim is to keep being able to get you the food and coffee you all love. We really want to survive this pandemic and be here to operate when things go back to normal. 17.01.2022 Hello everyone! As we begin to farewell another year, we have a lot to be thankful for. First of all, a BIG thanks to @sgally88 for the 4.5 years you stayed with us and made us better than we could ever have dreamed of. Thank you to our team for always trying your best, despite what may come. ... And special thanks to Woolloomooloo. All you lovely people who live, work or just pass through here, your continued support have helped us stay in business for SIX whole years (happy birthday to us!! ). Heres to another year, have a great holiday season everyone.

16.01.2022 Our hearts go out to the whole of Australia, to the people and animals who have lost homes and lives and to everyone else who has donated their time and money to the cause to fight and rebuilt. We are giving out free coffee today so you can donate that money instead. Well be donating to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (frrr.org.au). This challenge we are facing has been eye opening for sure. Giving now is only just the start. Well be thinking more and acting more about how to make JoMo a more environmentally sustainable business because we are just as guilty to this crisis as most. Lets make the future a bit better.
