25.01.2022 To The Beach House tonight with William, Daryl and my daughter Isabella. It’s great to have so many of these fantastic spots along our coast.
25.01.2022 This is a huge announcement for the whole of Perth. With METRONET to Yanchep just over a year away, residents up in our northern suburbs will be able to access the CBD in just 41 minutes (Alkimos) to 49 minutes (Yanchep). Perth is a sprawling city and faces some unique challenges. The McGowan Government is tackling these challenges head on with visionary projects like METRONET and the Perth City Deal, which will bring us all closer together and help us recover from the economic shock from COVID-19.
24.01.2022 Yanchep National Park is a local treasure and it was a real treat to visit Crystal Cave with Environment Minister Stephen Dawson MLC to inspect the new boardwalk, funded by a $150,000 injection by the McGowan Government, allowing visitors to explore this unique part of Perth. Yanchep has such a rich history, with the WWII bunkers nearby, the historic Yanchep Inn and of course the caves, which were frequented by Aboriginal People for thousands of years and many many kids over the last few decades on excursions. It really is magic down there.
24.01.2022 Some awesome news for Alkimos College and for gifted and talented youngsters in our northern suburbs! https://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au//New-Gifted-and-Tale
23.01.2022 Premier Mark McGowan's comments sum up today's events and the tragedy of this situation which began almost 25 years ago. I know I'm thinking of the families today.
22.01.2022 Another day we can be collectively proud of as Western Australians.
21.01.2022 WA's Container Deposit Scheme begins in only 7 days!
20.01.2022 It’s that time of year again! Bring down your non-perishable food items and age-appropriate toys to my office at Ocean Keys Blvd (opposite Rivers) for the annual Mayor’s Christmas Appeal. Every donation goes towards those having a tough Christmas in the City of Wanneroo so your donations go straight to vulnerable locals.

19.01.2022 Today, two new offences take effect in WA to protect victims of family and domestic violence. These new laws are in addition to those already in place to protect survivors and victims of domestic violence. Research tells us that non-lethal strangulation is one of the strongest indicators of an increased risk of homicide.... There are often no visible injuries, but it can still have severe medical consequences for the victim. To reflect the seriousness of this conduct, our new law against ‘suffocation and strangulation’ means it can be charged and prosecuted as a specific criminal offence. Persistent family violence is now also a criminal offence, recognising that physical and psychological abuse against a partner often forms a pattern of offending. It applies to an act of family violence against one victim on three or more occasions, over a 10-year period. These changes are part of the McGowan Government’s ongoing efforts to stop family and domestic violence in the community. They put WA at the forefront of criminalising this behaviour. By holding perpetrators to account, we can save lives.
18.01.2022 A stunning photo.
18.01.2022 PSA Applications are now open for the annual Preserving our Aboriginal Sites grant program to protect and promote registered Aboriginal heritage sites across WA. 17.01.2022 Lest we forget.
17.01.2022 Cycling. Rail. Cars. We are connecting our northern suburbs to the City in more ways than one. In the last 4 years, we've made huge progress in building the north.
15.01.2022 3 years ago I started my campaign to upgrade sections of Indian Ocean Drive, beginning with a survey which received over 2500 responses. Your voice was heard and we've put some of those ideas into action. Works will continue over the coming months on these sections.
14.01.2022 With Marcus and owner George this arvo at Oceans 27 - this place is so popular you must book on the weekend. George has whole cray fish chips and salad $40 - yep that’s a full cray great value no wonder this spot on beach is so popular and we have so many along our north coast.
13.01.2022 to Yanchep - under construction Fwy to Romeo Rd - contract to be awarded later this year in the northern suburbs - to be funded under our WA Recovery Plan Dozens of small projects with big impacts are complete or underway, like the beach access stairs in Two Rocks and the extremely popular skate park in Yanchep.... And to top it off, Mark Folkard MLA and I just committed $80,000 to help the Quinns Bowls Club build a synthetic green to encourage new members and increase participation. The McGowan Government really is building the north.
12.01.2022 My office has received a few queries from travel agents and their families, uncertain about the future after COVID-19 and its impact on international travel. That's why I strongly support this package, which is the first of its kind in Australia.
12.01.2022 An awesome effort from our volunteers - well done Marine Rescue Two Rocks! It's also a valuable reminder that conditions can become very dangerous along our coastline. Make sure to take note of the Beach Emergency Number signage when you arrive so you can tell emergency services exactly where you are should you need to.
10.01.2022 A brilliant initiative for WA towns, WA families and our state's economy.
09.01.2022 Starting December 5, some venues will be required to maintain contact registers. Have a careful read of Premier Mark McGowan's post.
09.01.2022 Arts and culture lovers rejoice!
08.01.2022 I absolutely love joining the gang at the Two Rocks Yanchep Residents Association to discuss local issues up here. It really has been a privilege to see so much finally happen in our northern suburbs, like the rail extension, Marmion Ave and the freeway extension to Romeo Rd. After 8 long years of neglect, we’re building the north! The Association is hosting a Blue Tree Paint Day at Charnwood Reserve on the 10th of October at 10am - make sure to head down on the day to be part of the movement.
06.01.2022 At parliament today promoting breast cancer screening - check out their Facebook page BreastScreen WA or head to breastscreen.health.wa.gov.au. I know just how important it is to diagnose cancer as early as possible, so make sure to get checked when you need to!
06.01.2022 The McGowan Government’s $2m contribution to Halesworth Park Open Space is helping it take shape - the two clubroom building designs are out for consultation. Head to https://www.wanneroo.wa.gov.au//695-butler-halesworth-park to have your say!
05.01.2022 Enjoying a great public holiday afternoon in our northern suburbs. It was a good chat with Craig, whose son Jason runs the Amberton Beach Bar. Craig likes to help out around the place by trying the food and testing the drinks so Jason knows he’s choosing the right ones - an important job!
04.01.2022 I made a visit with Mark Folkard MLA, the Member for Burns Beach, to the Quinns Bowls Club a couple of weeks back to hear about some of the things they've been up to. The Club is a local icon and I'm so proud to announce that if the McGowan Government is re-elected, Mark Folkard and I will provide over $80,000 for the Club to build a synthetic green which will allow for increased participation, year-round events and a more inclusive club for all locals. A special thanks to Se...an (who does a wonderful description of the project in the video) from the Bowls Club for working with Mark and me on this fantastic outcome for the Quinns Community. We're building the northern suburbs!
03.01.2022 Today, Premier Mark McGowan has announced some extremely important changes to regulations covering interstate arrivals from NSW and Victoria, effective from Monday the 5th of October. It is important to note that VERY strict exemptions allowing travel into WA from Victoria remain in place. Please take your time to read through any changes that may affect you or those close to you.
03.01.2022 I've often walked by WA schools with some fantastic assembly and sporting facilities and wondered why they weren't being used outside of school hours. Well the McGowan Government is making it easier for schools from Butler to Two Rocks and all over WA to open their facilities as community hubs. The change will deliver more green open space for local residents, as well as greater meeting options for local community and sporting organisations.... To find out more, visit www.education.wa.edu.au/community-use-of-school-facilities
02.01.2022 If you want to know what's been happening in your area, check out this fantastic map which has the details on the progress of my biggest commitments being delivered in our northern suburbs. https://tinyurl.com/y3lsa8uw
02.01.2022 Have any concerns about your area? On every issue big or small, I'm always keen to help find a solution and my Campaign Team is always here to listen. Send your concerns my way - [email protected].
01.01.2022 Got to catch up with Steve Fitzpatrick from Quinns Soccer Club at Oceans 27 today.
01.01.2022 Today I’ll be introducing into Parliament a substantial package of reforms to ensure all participants in the building and construction industry can be confident of getting paid on time, and every time, for the work they do. The reforms include an Australian first with the introduction of a mandatory retention trust scheme to protect subcontractors’ retention money from being misappropriated or lost altogether in the event of an insolvency at each level of the contracting chain. We’ve also included provisions that will allow for registered building contractors with a history of ripping off subcontractors, or engaging in ‘phoenixing’ activity by driving a construction business into the ground and then re-emerging with a brand new business, to be removed from the industry.
