19.01.2022 Today's job was a repair on a Technics RS-X120 Dual Cassette deck. The fault this unit had was that both decks would not play, and would in fact damage the tapes. This was a result of broken 'take-up idler gears' which had missing teeth. Due to the age of the unit, spare parts are no longer available which would usually render this job UN-REPAIRABLE... Fortunately I was able to organise a German specialist to manufacture a high-quality 3D-printed gear to replace the broken ones! All belts were replaced, speed adjusted, decks fully serviced and successfully restored. What a great sounding cassette deck!

12.01.2022 The extremely high rated Sony CDP-990 was released in 1990 and considered one of "the last Sony treasures" This repair arrived in my workshop dead! Diagnosed some components damaged and corroded main PCB tracks caused by leaky electrolytic capacitors. Replaced faulty components, repaired and cleaned main pcb, replaced loading belt and cleaned serviced and re-aligned unit.

06.01.2022 This I don't get to see often. A Technics SL-PG300 CD Player modified with a speed control added! This unit was used at a Dance School and slowing down the speed was handy when teaching the basics. Replaced a broken loading belt and serviced now back to the dance floor!
