23.01.2022 We have made the difficult decision to cancel this Saturday's Christmas market due to the forecast of substantial rain over the coming days and on the weekend. It's always difficult to accurately predict what will happen with the weather and the BOM does change regularly. In saying, that we need to provide as much notice to stallholders and visitors as possible so they can plan for their day, etc. With Covid restrictions, all stalls are outside and we cant risk everyone getting drenched on the day. We hope to bring stalls back inside for our January 9th, 2021 market as we bring back some normality to the markets. We wish everyone a Happy and safe Christmas and New Year.
22.01.2022 Good Morning everyone. We are planning to recommence our beloved Johns River Country Markets again in August (Saturday 8th). We have created areas in the Hall with maximum numbers allowed in the respective areas. We have a Covid Safe Plan in place to assist with minimisation of this virus. Our reopening of the markets will be dependant on the current Victorian outbreak and any new restrictions that the NSW government may impose. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for further updates. Thank you and take care.
15.01.2022 Congratulations to all of our new recruits, thanks for coming on board to protect our village. Well done
15.01.2022 Further to our recent post about the Johns River Country Markets. We have made the difficult decision to again postpone the Johns River Country Markets until the current COVID 19 risk reduces. We had hoped to recommence on the 8th August but given the recent issues in Victoria and more outbreaks locally, we can't risk the safety of our volunteers, stall holders and the wider community. We will reassess in late August and made a decision about the September market then. Please spread the word about our decision and we hope to see you again soon when times and the COVID issues improves. Take care and stay safe.
15.01.2022 Some excellent and passionate new recruits for the brigade, getting them ready for the Fire season. Hopefully quieter than last years.
14.01.2022 The fire danger for the Mid Coast tomorrow, Friday 25 September will be Very High and all fire permits will be suspended. If you see a fire and no fire trucks in attendance call triple zero (000) immediately.

11.01.2022 A big thank you to some dedicated community volunteers for their help recently with some painting and gardening at the hall. Thank you to Wendy and Ian for their work on the garden with mulching and to Ana, Diny and Nick for their painting prowess. Our new veranda project Is going well with the new roof ready for installation and then the deck area. It will be great when it’s finally completed.
06.01.2022 Further to our post last month about the Johns River Country Markets. Given there are still concerns with Covid 19 in Victoria and borders are still closed in that state and QLD, we have made the difficult decision to again postpone the Johns River Country Markets until the current COVID 19 risk reduces. There are pleasing signs from Victoria but the risk is still there. We had hoped to recommence on the 12th September but we can't risk the safety of our volunteers, stall h...olders and the wider community. We feel for our stall holders and those who rely on our markets for their income, but we have to consider the health and safety of all who attends the markets. We will reassess in late September and make a decision about the October market then. Please spread the word about our decision and we hope to see you again soon when times and the COVID issues improves. Take care and stay safe.

05.01.2022 We would like to highlight an event that is happening next Monday evening at our Community Hall. Twelve months on from the fires that had such an impact on our village. This session will enable us to come together and look at ways to become more resilient and ways in which to support each other during such a crisis. The event will be catered for by the great staff at Rosies Cafe. Everyone is welcome and please RSVP below, just for catering purposes. Please help us by sharing this post with your networks. Many thanks Johns River Community Hall Committee.
04.01.2022 Thanks Phillip and the Kendall Op shop for their support of our brigade.
03.01.2022 Further to our recent posts about the recommencement of the beloved Johns River Country markets. We have made the decision to recommence the Markets in October, which is great news for our stallholders, visitors and the local community. Our Markets will recommence on Saturday 10th October and the times of the markets (8am-12.30pm) remain unchanged. Given COVID 19 is still alive and active in some parts of the country, we will reopen the markets under strict COVIDSAFE rules a...nd we have developed 3 separate COVIDSAFE plans. These will be available upon request on the day if required. If you are a stall holder wishing to come to the markets in October, please PM us with your details (mobile and email address) and we can send you the new guidelines in relation to having a stall at the markets. Keep an eye out for further communications regarding the markets in the coming days.
01.01.2022 Just an update for you in relation to our Markets. We were due to have a market this Saturday but due to the recent rain in the area and expected rain between now and Saturday, we have decided to cancel this January market. Unfortunately, the grounds won’t dry out in time. We are also concerned with the Sydney Covid outbreaks and will monitor that situation moving forward. We hope to see you for our February market, weather and covid permitting, of course.
01.01.2022 Great to have 6 new Fire fighters pass their assessment today and ready to help our Johns River brigade. Well done to all of our new trainees and our passionate training officers. We have more trainees ready to come on board as well.
