You can fish in the deep river where the platypus & endemic turtles also lives, and I recommend a 500m loop walk around the property while looking for the famous Tree-kangaroo and wild birds. 500m

11.01.2022 Johnstone Bend is home to 153 species of birds, and it took just 2.5 years or so to hit. The property has been carefully created by well-known Australian birdwatcher/guide "Yu Ota". Approx 900 trees were planted since acquisition! 11 of 15 Wet Tropic's endemic are recorded here. 15329001511

08.01.2022 Johnstone Bend is known for it’s semi-resident Lumholtz Tree-kangaroos (endemic marsupial). I recognize 4 different individuals (see these pictures) so far, but a young female Ana will be most likely seen. Unlike her mother, Ana moves everyday so it’s a kind of game for us to locate her.
