We have received some beautiful messages to thank IBCSG and our community. Dear ladies of Innisfail I would like to thank you so much for the packet of goodies I was given on my first day of chemotherapy. It brightened up my otherwise gloomy day which was full of apprehension. The light scarf/shawl was especially lovely so I can’t thank you enough for your efforts. I hope you all have a joyful Christmas and wish you all the best in 2021. Hi there, I am a mother in Yungaburra who has just had a double mastectomy and am undergoing 6 months chemo. I just wanted to say thankyou so much for the support pack your group put together. It arrived via my Breastcare nurse during my first chemo dose and I was so amazed to receive it and see what was in there. They are such well thought out gifts and treats, you are amazing. I just wanted you to know it brought a smile to my dial and gave my 6 year old son plenty of fun making up a "useful" shop so he could give me things as I needed them. We had a lot of fun. Keep up the amazing work and it really does make a difference. Thankyou. Sarah Thank you for your ongoing support. We would like to wish everyone a Merry Xmas and a safe and healthy 2021. 07.01.2022 If we stop buying crap, they'll stop making crap! Overconsumption is pushing our planet to its limits, and reducing the amount of stuff we buy is one seriously ...effective trick! Before replacing something that's broken, can you upcycle it into something new? Remember, recycling is the LAST step when it comes to protecting the environment. Refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and in that order! #wildaware #savethisplanet #saveouroceans See more

07.01.2022 Upcycling [uhp-sklng]: The act of making something even more awesome than it once was. Presenting our 2011 song, 'No Such Thing As Waste' - remixed, reveget...ated and re-shot into a new, bangin' music vid with the same simple message: PRODUCE NO WASTE. We decided to resurrect the ol' fave for our new album 'Garbage Guts' (out now through 8 Pound Gorilla Records) and employed the masterful electro-juicy-beet-pumping skills of Spoonbill to bring it into the 20's. We hope you dig the tune and keep the perma-cultural recycling vibes alive :) Many thanks to the marvellous Mal Webb and Kylie Morrigan for their kerbside/backyard shenanigans (and for playing a mean string and horn section!), Jasper Jones for filming his crazy brother in front of Dad's mudbrick shed and Oz J Thomas, Wee Earthlings, Djanbung Gardens & everyone else who helped make the original clip a million years ago! 05.01.2022 WASTE WEDNESDAY Rethink your food waste this Christmas. Here are some helpful tips to help reduce the amount of waste you send to landfill. ... 1. Think before you shop. Know how many people you are feeding and have a list of exactly what you need before purchasing food. 2. Use your leftovers. Give your guests a doggie bag of leftover food in reusable containers. Or save it for yourself! 3. Compost it! Separate your food scraps for the compost bin and worm farm. If you don't have one yet, now is a great time because Council is offering a $20 rebate to residents who purchase a compost bin or worm farm system. Click the link to apply for your rebate and help us reduce waste in our backyard. https://bit.ly/3ozWagD
