23.01.2022 Private Flu Vaccines are here! Our first clinic is today! We are still waiting for public vaccines and expecting them next week. See our website for more information https://www.johnstreetmc.com/influenza-vaccines

23.01.2022 Now is a great time to get up to date with your health. Book for a phone consult to check chronic disease plans, asthma, hypertension and allergy plans before things get busy. All this can be done by phone.

18.01.2022 New symptoms can be assessed too. All the doctors are learning from overseas colleagues who are used to using Telehealth about how to do the best job. We can organise blood tests, X-rays and other imaging and new prescriptions without the patient necessarily having to come to the practice themselves. If attendance is deemed necessary, the plan is that the patient will call reception from their car in our carpark, and their doctor will call them back, and either se them in the car, or arrange for them to come into the practice, with all the proper precautions in place. Don't leave it - call us.

15.01.2022 John Street Medical Centre is an independent family medical practice that has been caring for Tasmanians since 1968. We are accepting new patients and welcome you to call or check out our website for more information. We won't be checking or updating this page but our website will have more information, especially with COVID-19. www.johnstreetmc.com

07.01.2022 We're moving to Telehealth! As of Monday 30 March 2020 we are moving to seeing all of our patients via Telehealth, with some exceptions. This is a big change for us and for patients but we have been using Telehealth more and more over the last 2 weeks and have found it surprisingly effective. It means that we call you for your appointment on your phone and fax any scripts or referrals to where they're needed to go. ... This will mostly avoid the need for patients to come to John Street and is in line with Australian Government and Department of Health recommendations to increase social distancing and reduce unnecessary movement in the community. We will still see some patients face to face when necessary and we still have plenty of PPE to protect you, our staff, and other patients if you have symptoms or exposure to COVID-19, influenza or gastro. We are posting regular updates on our website and you can find out more information there.
