25.01.2022 Look who agreed to an interview this afternoon! After many denied requests and a general reluctance to appear on Facebook John finally buckled to public demand and sat down with his grandson Tim to answer some questions about his incredible career which you can read below: How long have you been working here Grandpa? ... "I've now been working for myself for 54 years. I moved into this office in 1979 and before that was working out of an office at 62 Ryrie Street where we also had the agency for the Capital Building Society which was eventually taken over by the Bendigo Bank" "Before that I was the in house accountant for the Valley Mills (which has now become Little Creatures Brewery!) as my day job and built up my own practice from home on weeknights and the weekend" John then did some rummaging around in his desk and produced the initial auction notice for the Fenwick Street office dating way back to 1979 which you can see in the second photo! What is your favourite part about the job? "The people........ I just like people full stop!" What do you like to do outside of work? (Tim had to chuckle asking this question considering Johns famous work ethic meaning there isn't much time for things outside of work!) "Go home to bed! I eat sleep and come back to work" What is a little known fact about you? "No secrets for me! What you see is what you get" What would be the highlight of your career so far? "Having the opportunity to work with my Daughter Sharon for all these years. She was only a kid when she started (Sharon was 17) and we've been together ever since" What advice would you give to people struggling with the tough economic times at the moment? 19.01.2022 Tim somehow convinced Sharon to be in a photo with him in between churning out those tax returns Thank you so much to everyone for the support and understanding as we've transitioned to our new remote system We're very pleased to say that it's working well and it will be great to speak with all of our lovely clients that haven't yet booked in soon (just check out the pinned post at the top of our page for instructions ).

15.01.2022 We hope everyone is holding up ok at the moment We’ve been so encouraged by all the clients that have enjoyed our COVID safe method of operating this year and think we may even offer the online/phone option next year too Hopefully it’s not too long now until we all get some freedom back...... Sharon can’t wait to get out of the office and back to some bush walks with her daughter Katrina

Role: Accountant What is your favourite part about your job? The interaction with so many people from all walks of life How long have you been working here? Started at seventeen just after finishing school but had worked in school holidays prior to that. What do you like to do outside of work? I like reading books and am also a part of several music groups which are for both singing and instrumental music. I play the guitar along with piano, flute and harp! I also enjoy going for long walks along the Barwon River What is a little known fact about you? I have three adult children and three dogs So there you have it folks! Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for some more profiles .

13.01.2022 Our sister company at Murrell Chauffeur Drive is about to embark on a very exciting expansion In two weeks our family business will be commencing management of Golden Plains Storage by Murrell Group and offering a variety of storage options for both businesses and individuals throughout the Golden Plains Area . We’ll also be launching a brand new website for the business and would really appreciate a like on our page .

11.01.2022 Go Shaz go! We’re so glad that Sharon has returned to us after a much needed few days of rest. Many people choose to sit on the beach and chill on their holidays but Sharon went on several hikes along the Great Ocean Road! ... She’s feeling refreshed and glad to be back in the office providing great service along with our fantastic staff

08.01.2022 Some exciting news out of Douro Street earlier today! Our family take a great deal of pride in having a genuine attitude towards providing excellent customer service. We've been operating small businesses for three generations right here in Geelong and feel like we're only just getting started .

08.01.2022 Our roving reporters managed to make their way into the front office this week and snag another one of our great team members for our latest staff profile . This time it was Kelly's turn to share some fun facts! What is your favourite part about your job?... "Getting to interact with our regular banking and accounting customers on a daily basis. A lot of clients have become an extended family to us over the years". How long have you been working here? "16 years" What do you like to do outside of work? "Travelling to Disneyland & America. Its my mission to do all the Disney parks in the world once we can travel again. I also enjoy spending time with my two dogs Charlie & Willow". What is a little known fact about you? "I was lucky enough to win the Woollies Lion King Competition last year resulting in a trip to free trip Disneyworld. Stockpiling of Dettol to win the competition came in very handy this year when COVID hit!". As you can see Kelly is quite the traveller when she's not hard at work providing great service to our clients . Our next mission is going to be our most challenging yet....... Can we convince John to make his social media debut and answer some questions about his very unique life in our next staff profile? This photo was from the very early days of our Fenwick Street Office and the signage in the background is for the Capital Building Society which we originally represented as a branch before it merged with The Bendigo Bank.

We've been absolutely flat out and couldn't be more appreciative of how understanding our much loved clients have been as we adjusted our operations to deal with the COVID situation. In between churning out those tax returns we've managed to track down our fantastic tax consultant Kylie for our latest staff profile......... Your all about to learn something new! ... What is your favourite part about your job? "Doing what I love each day with such a great team. I particularly love to hear John’s jokes.they make me smile every time". How long have you been working here? "Over 12 months now, however I have been working in tax for over 25 years starting in my own family’s tax practice". What do you like to do outside of work? "I love to cook for my friends and family and on my days off, I love spending quality time with my boys. I also love to DANCEnot that I get to do that much anymore". What is a little known fact about you? "I was in a Movie.a very small snippet but nevertheless that will be my little known fact and claim to fame.forever!" So there you have it!
