23.01.2022 Today marks mum and dads 42nd wedding anniversary. It goes without saying that the hole feels enormous and deep. In his last weeks with us Earth-side, dad planted two rose bushes, one red and one yellow to symbolise their unity and their love and because that was his way. When he sometimes lacked the w o r d s to express his love and gratitude for mum, he showed her in other ways. Handmade gifts, cups of tea, cooking... . If I ever needed guidance within my own marriage my m...um and dad are the people I turned to. Those that have weathered the storms, have experienced the highest of highs, made sacrifices for each other and continued on when the road was gnarly. This is true love and maybe it’s a little 2020. . It isn’t surprising that the roses have bloomed at the most significant times since his passing, bringing bittersweet reminders that he’s still with us and their love lives on. Today they were planted in new pots ready to greet mum whenever she comes home. . From the hearts of your children we honour your wedding anniversary, on this last day of a profound year in all of our lives. 18.01.2022 It is so gratifying to receive a random request for a SECOND John Turton! I was fortunate enough to be introduced to his work as my workplace purchased 4 or 5 of his paintings when they renovated 8 years ago (Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation) I always wanted to get one myself when I was able to! There aren’t many artists where every single work is so brilliant!

17.01.2022 One of the things I love most about John’s paintings is that besides the overall beauty of the canvas, there are always amazing little pockets that draw the eye and tell their own story. I am so grateful to have Cloudy Hill hanging at the end of my bed. Not sure that we got the name right though? And unfortunately the photo doesn’t really do it justice.
