By focusing on their water awareness has helped boost their confidence immensely! ... There is never ONE way to teach a child to swim. Only one parent/carer to attend swimming lessons Plan for arrival and departure time where minimal amount of time in the centre is needed. Note for BARINGA families: As we are an indoor facility, all parents/carers are required to wear a mask. Masks are not required for anyone who is in the water attending lessons.... A Swim Australia Teacher has the competence and knowledge to teach swimming and water safety to independent learners in groups of varying sizes.... Successful students of this course will gain a Statement of Attainment with the competencies required to deliver GST free, water related, personal safety and survival lessons. Course cost is $325. 13.01.2022 Swim Australia SwimSAFER Week is back again in 2020! SwimSAFER Week aims to help educate children of safety tips and procedures in and around the water. We ask all children from Starfish Beginner to Bronze Target to bring a set of light clothes to their swimming lessons to perform their survival drills and rescues (don't forget to bring a plastic bag as they will not be wearing their clothes throughout the whole lesson).

13.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNY ‘Officially’, Jenny’s role is our Deck Supervisor... But really, she’s much more than that! She’s our rock that holds us all together, our medical expert, chef extraordinaire and our seamstress when we have holes in our clothes. She’s the type of person if there’s a problem, then she’ll fix it without any questions. She’s also a great friend to us all and deserves a very special mention on her special day.

13.01.2022 Thank you to the Courier Mail for a great little article on our Infant classes. Little Mr Holt shows the perfect example of a wonderful intro shallow submersion as a 4 month old, what a great photo! Submersions like these take time and repetition practising the cues we teach our little ones in our swimming lessons and at home before developing a shallow submersion.

When possible, one spectator only. Follow our class handover protocol by waiting away from the Indoor Pool & 25mt pool entry way until the class before you had vacated. 06.01.2022 As per advice from the Queensland Government on 29 March 2021, if you have been in the Greater Brisbane area since 20 March 2021, you must follow the Chief Health Officer’s directions and comply with the same lockdown rules applying to Greater Brisbane and as such must not attend our Caloundra or Baringa centres. Please get in touch with us via email or phone to let us know if this affects you. Make up lessons will be available to those affected, however these will only be ...available to take from Tuesday April 6. We ask that only 1 parent/guardian attends swimming lessons until 7pm Thursday April 1 - seating will be minimal to allow for social distancing. We strongly urge parents to plan their swimming lesson time arrival so that we minimise the total number of people attending our facility. We also ask that for the remainder of the week you leave immediately after your lesson. As usual, if you have experienced cold or flu symptoms within the previous 72 hours, you are not permitted to attend lessons. A reminder that we have no swimming lessons scheduled on Friday April 2, Saturday April 3 or Monday April 6 due to public holidays, however swimming lessons do continue throughout the school holidays. Please notify us of any intended absences over the holidays to ensure you qualify for make up lessons.

Spring reminds me that life is about to get busier with weekends filled of beach swims, surfs with the kids, lazing by the pool & living in my togs most weekends. ... It also means our children will be spending a lot more time in or around the water so now is a the perfect opportunity to build their confidence and strength in the water. Timing is crucial! Don’t leave it till last minute, give them that confidence before our weekends are filled with water play. Kristy
