25.01.2022 So the Coalition election win was a pretty good birthday present. Normally I dont get too involved in politics. Labors policy of removing trailing commission next year was interesting. This would have ensured a reduction in competition and ultimately increase home loan interest rates and fees. But it was their negative gearing and capital gains tax changes that would have had a more significant impact on our economy. Banks would have had no choice but to further reduce how... much they could lend due to the removal of negative gearing add-backs to investors. Property markets would have continued to implode as finance became more difficult to obtain and consumer confidence waned. Now we can get on with business and be more confident about the thought of employing staff and increasing our overheads. But we need a strong opposition so that we have an even stronger government. I look forward to the next 12 months as we all get back to business and our economy starts to rebound. Cheers!

21.01.2022 This is interesting. Who would have the 'balls' to bet $500 million on a positive outcome for the major banks, when the report had not yet been released?

21.01.2022 Now updated with Bankwest and Bank of Queensland

20.01.2022 Hello, I am going to continue the rate update comparison I started in June so that you can compare how the major lenders are moving in comparison. I will update this as more rate announcements are made. If you would like me to add a particular lender, please let me know?

08.01.2022 I know a lot of people that would agree with this. Do you think they have gone too far?

08.01.2022 It's nice to be appreciated for the hard work!

07.01.2022 Reserve Bank rate cuts have never been more confusing than now. With so many different variable rates, I am updating this table as Lenders make their decision. If you are on a variable rate, your rate should reduce by the amount below, depending on your current loan purpose and repayment type:-

04.01.2022 To my current and future clients: The media seems to have gone into overdrive since 4pm yesterday when the Federal government released the report by the Royal Commission into Misconduct into the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. As is usual there is a lot of misinformation about due largely to the ignorance of those commenting, media and politicians alike. The commission was a public hearing so many of its findings are of no surprise to those who have ...Continue reading
