24.01.2022 EASTER SERVICE | This morning our school community came together for Primary and Secondary Easter Services led by Chaplain Justine. We celebrated Holy Week through prayer, music and story. The Paschal candle was lit and blessed, representing the light of Christ coming into the world.

24.01.2022 Congratulations to our Class of 2020 on their strong performance in the recent ATAR examinations achieving a School Median ATAR of 83.3 (State Median ATAR - 81.65). 20.01.2022 The Year 12 enjoyed the great outdoors spending time at Sandy Cape earlier this week. As part of their Certificate II Outdoor Recreation class they had the opportunity to do some camping, fishing and kayaking.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to the Year 10 Café Culture students who passed their barista course with flying colours! The class have learnt to operate a three-head espresso machine, while also serving customers and preparing café style snacks. The course gets students work ready and gives them a head start in the hospitality industry. #brightfutures #jwacs



18.01.2022 ASC COMBINED SCHOOLS CONCERT Students who can play a classical instrument or sing are invited to audition for this concert, joining around 400 other students from ASC Schools. 18.01.2022 PLATING UP | Astley Care residents visited Chalk Café last week for a special two-course meal prepared by Year 10 Hospitality students. Students served a delicious menu of chicken parmigiana, creamy mash and seasonal vegetables followed by apple and berry crumble with cream. As a result of previous COVID limitations, it was the first aged care function to be held in over a year, making it a special occasion for all who were involved.

17.01.2022 We were delighted to welcome new and existing students to the Year 7 2021 Orientation Day today. Students had the opportunity to make new friends, play games, discover the campus and try their hand at some Secondary experiences today. We look forward to reuniting with everyone again next year!

17.01.2022 'We may all be different, but in this class we all swim together.' Year 2s created these wonderful rainbow fish artworks last term as part of their Unit of Inquiry 'Who We Are', which focused on celebrating each student's personal heritage and individuality.



17.01.2022 The annual Art Exhibition will be on display from Wednesday 16 to Wednesday 23 September, from 3:00pm - 4:00pm. To maintain social distancing, Secondary art will be showcased in the Technology Centre foyer and Primary art will be exhibiting in the Primary Art Room. We invite parents and families to come and see some of the fantastic and thought-provoking artworks that have been created this year by our hardworking students.

16.01.2022 A group of Year 4s held a bake sale in Term 4 raising money for the Western Australian Apiarists Society to help protect bees. Members of the Primary Wildlife Club said, "Bees are a vital part of our ecosystem so we wanted to do our bit to help!"

15.01.2022 GREEK DRAMA REINVENTED | Year 10 Drama students undertook the project of performing a modern interpretation of the ancient Greek play 'Persephone and the Underworld' last term. The class worked together on all aspects of playwriting, including lighting, script, costumes and props.

15.01.2022 Can you help Hale House reach their fundraising goals? To help those in need Hale House are running a fundraiser on Hale Day to collect household items in support of Anglicare WA's YES Housing Program. Families can donate one or more items of tea, coffee, sugar, cleaning products, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Donations can be received at ELC, Primary and Student Services Reception.

14.01.2022 We recently farewelled Primary teacher, Anne Guyan who decided to retire this year. Mrs Guyan has been a wonderful teacher to students in the Learning Enrichment Centre running small groups for maths and reading. The LEC has a thriving program in which children receive the support they need from caring staff members.

13.01.2022 LAKE ROAD ROADWORKS NOTICE As part of the Denny Avenue Crossing Roadworks, a designated truck parking area will be in place from April 8 to May 7 on Lake Road between Centre Road and Railway Avenue. This will result in one of the lanes on Lake Road being closed. Please follow the traffic management and signage in place to ensure the safety of everybody in the area.

03.01.2022 Can you donate a pair of socks for our Founders' Day Socks in the City Appeal? Please get behind our SOCK-raising for the homeless by donating a pair of socks that are new, clean with labels attached in adult size. Ideally the socks will be made from natural fibres (cotton or wool) with limited nylon or synthetics. You can help to make a difference to the lives of the homeless. Donations can be presented to ELC Reception, Primary Reception or Student Services Reception. The socks will be presented to representatives from Socks in the City and Rotary and then distributed through Homeless Healthcare.

02.01.2022 Today Hale House students celebrated Hale day with a chapel service reflection and outdoor games. This year, students are supporting the Anglicare WA Yes! Housing Program by collecting various household supplies. The Program supports young adults at risk of homelessness by providing stable housing access and giving them the skills required for independence. 01.01.2022 A bumper crop of carrots and zucchinis were recently harvested from the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden! The Year 5s grew enough to share with the entire Upper Primary cohort, placing a healthy twist on macaroni cheese by using vegetable 'noodles'. We can't wait to see what the students grow next year.
