20.01.2022 Race MV at home in the lounge

14.01.2022 Hi This is an update on the life of Woodley. Thanks to everyone for being interested. The MV sits in my office awaiting its next track day and race event. Both these will be a little way off yet. On Monday 27th March I am having spinal surgery to repair a prolapsed disc and narrowing of the nerve channel between L3 and L4. This problem was caused by deadlifting a very light 65kgs at the gym in my quest to get fit for racing. I have a surgeon called Greg Malham who will be doi...ng the operation which will take about two hours. Recovery will be four days in hospital and seven days rehab before being allowed home. Six weeks after that I will be good to have an operation on the right shoulder rotator cuff. Its the year of the operation as I clutch on to youth and refuse to die a decrepit old man! Watch this space for a return to the gym and personal trainer Tony Cavill who had worked wonders with me in the 26 weeks prior to the left shoulder rotator cuff op on November the 7th last year. A team training partners, Brett Besanko and Melissa Kovacic continue training meanwhile and have been very encouraging as I recover for and prepare for these operations. Do not worry about me folks. The chance of success on the spinal job is 80 to 100% return to full health and only a 3-4% risk of nerve damage and infection. Watch this space for a return to full health and a return to race track to keep all you young bucks honest! Meanwhile some photos to freshen the page. See more

10.01.2022 Dear followers of the John Woodley Racing page, John had his shoulder operation on Monday 7th November - and is currently still in hospital for rehabilitation. John will be out of hospital tomorrow, 17th, and heading home to Taggerty. Last Saturday night John was in good form - getting out of the hospital overnight, to attend an evening at the Taggerty Hall - where he and I spoke of our memories of meeting Burt Munro. This was followed by a screening of The World's Fastest... Indian. John is doing well and looking forward to getting back on the bike. Cheers Charley Lamb
