24.01.2022 The COVID-19 pandemic has not only had a profound impact in our Australian society and around the world, but also on those seeking asylum in Australia. Currently, there are 16,000 children and young people seeking asylum in Australia. Their families remain ineligible for any substantive government support and as such there is a huge need in our community, as people are forced into destitution. Childhood is not only a gift but a human right; as part of the #NoChildLeftBehind w...eek of solidarity, our John XXIII College community stands in solidarity with the children of the world seeking asylum. This week we are working together to create awareness for those our age who are trapped in unfortunate circumstances by engaging in activities universally enjoyed by children. Through this we hope to promote a just society in which all people can reach their full potential. Jesuit Refugee Service JRS Australia
