21.01.2022 I’m wondering if you’ve experienced the truth in this observation shared by Oscar Wilde? Life is gifting me a glimpse in to the power of the mind right now after herniating a disc in my back. Is it heaven or hell for me? ... It all depends what consciousness I can hold on to as the mind offers its variety of thoughts, how much I can remain the witness of the experience and not fall in to one of the minds enticing stories where I identify myself as the thought. It’s wonderful to live in the realisation that we have the ability to choose our thoughts... eventually... when we’ve done the inner work to receive this truth as a direct experience. So if you’re not quite there yet and keep getting drawn in to believing your minds offerings, then I’m here to cheer you on and am suggesting you keep at it. That’s all I do. I keep going towards more and more self understanding and eventually the realisations come. Freedom. It’s a day by day thing and you can do it!!! 21.01.2022 Life has so many gifts for us if we can see them. This morning I had more of a challenge getting up than normal due to a more interrupted sleep. I usually bounce out around 4:30-5am and head off to the Yoga Barn to do my qigong practices. After laying in an extra ten mins I dragged my tired self out of bed and dressed. Had a drink and headed outside. And was gifted this beautiful moon vista directly at the side gate. ... Wow! She stopped me in my tracks and there was an instant flood of appreciation of the moment, a gift for getting out of bed. Then I did my 90 min practice and opened my eyes to discover the glorious sunshine of the second photo. Yet again another gift directly in my path! So blessed. xoxo
21.01.2022 Sometimes life sucks. It can deal us some cards that we simply didn’t expect. And sometimes the cards are dealt just fine but we still can’t seem to find happiness. ... Any form of suffering is a sign that our thoughts and beliefs aren’t serving us, or there’s a conflict between competing beliefs. That’s ironically empowering at a level we may not yet be able to see or feel. That’s because thoughts and beliefs can be changed if you’re prepared to do the inner work. Some are easy to change, and other more deeply embedded core beliefs take more work to access and redefine. 20.01.2022 Some moments are worth sharing. The Queen came to visit the farm and is now having her hair done by Grace in the Unicorn bed (which is an Inquiry project for school). And Will is just munching on a broccoli leaf in companionship. This moment greeted me as I returned from getting a drink of water. ... May u day be filled with quiet moments of deep joy too. xoxo

11.01.2022 I’m kneeling in the garden planting seedlings that nature has helped me to grow from seed. The sun is shining and there’s a multitude of birds vocalising nearby. Happy young kids are at school. The VCE student in the house is out surfing and running errands for me and my older child is pursuing his interests and career in the army. ... I’m living on a farm in a lovely area with a truly beautiful gentle man. And whilst I’m moving slowly and tenderly as I recover from a truly painful back injury, there’s a deep contentment that bubbles up, a knowing that Life is very good just as it is. A momentary thought passes, a recognition that everything I’ve ever hoped for as an adult IS my actual current lived experience. This thought, as is the nature of thoughts, is immediately followed with another. How’d this come to be? Because there’s been thousands of moments in my life where life has been truly awful and full of very intense suffering, self loathing and the despising of life that is found in depression. The next thought is the recognition that life is good because I have made it so. Not with force and manipulation, and not with hoping and wishing either. Life is truly and deeply lovely because I have worked extremely diligently on myself for 15 years. It’s a choice, no luck involved. Wishing for a lovely life is but the start point. It’s the steps taken after wishing that are vital. A wish without action is merely a fanciful thought or daydream. A trap. My life is lovely and very content because of the thousands of steps that have been taken towards the imagined life. The steps in to my own darkness and pain. The steps towards learning about myself and constantly endeavouring to improve. To say I am blessed is a non truth in the space I’m resting in today. This inner place knows that we are all blessed to live this kind of contentment. It’s the steps taken towards finding it that differentiate us all. 08.01.2022 When you don’t feel so good inside yourself, who do you become? do you complain, whinge and whine in some way? do you suffer in silence in a martyr mindset?... do you get angry and lash out at the world? do you get hard and unforgiving on yourself? We have to become conscious in some way to change this habit. A powerful way of doing this is to use our awareness to focus on what we are grateful for thats a part of our life right now. This practice of consciousness grows a new habit and feelings of positivity flood our system the more we pr...actice this new habit. You can join me in a daily practice of gratitude. Each night I will post in a Gratitude Group that I have at 6pm. This post is where you share 3-5 (or more) things you are grateful for in your life. You can add your post at any time you like, even the next day. Its not about joining at any particular time of day. Its about doing the practice and sharing with others who are also practicing. 03.01.2022 In our Covid world theres been some popularisation of the words pivot, unprecedented and resilience. The latter, resilience, is truly life changing for mental and emotional wellbeing if you can create a connection with that quality and become embedded inside it so that you become it and it part of you. So what is resilience in the context of our mental and emotional health?... Its the practice to gain the ability to become elastic, to bounce back both within and after setback, even if these setbacks are seemingly repetitive or ongoing. So how are you going with developing the ability to be resilient? Feels like so may people dont realise its a developmental skill that anyone can work to acquire if theres willingness. I use a combination of yogic breathing and a restorative yoga pose to teach the body and the mind how to relax. You might even like to put some relaxing music on as you practice this technique.
