24.01.2022 Great news today for tradies and new home builders with the federal government announcing the 'HomeBuilder' grant of $25,000 for Australians to build or substantially renovate their homes. Fantastic initiative to boost the housing sector and keep trades in work. Todays announcement eligibility:... - New home builds for principal places of residence valued up to $750,000 including land. - Renovations of principal place of residence with a build contract of between $150,000 and $750,000 and the home not valued at more than $1.5 million before the renovation. - For build contracts entered into between June 4th and December 31st 2020. - New home construction or renovation must commence within 3 months of the build contract date. - Income tested for singles who earned up to $125,000 and couples who earned up to $200,000 in the last financial year. - Cant be used for additions to the property unconnected to the residence including 'granny flats', swimming pools, tennis courts, sheds or garages. - Can be used in conjunction with Victorians current State Government First Home Owners Grant of $10,000 to build a first home or the $20,000 for new homes built in Regional Victoria for contracts signed from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2021. https://www.sbs.com.au//federal-government-offers-25-000-h
