13.01.2022 Moores Creek Clean Up Yesterday the Jolly Rogers removed 350kgs of litter in 5 hours from Moores Creek just from under the bridge near maccas!!!! This was by far the most disgusting clean up we have done!! ... 50kgs was made up of aerosol cans - it seems rexona is popular.. and lynx Africa.. The remaining 300kgs was made up of a sick amount of syringes and drug paraphernalia, trolleys and other random metals, meds, cans & bottles, bulk KFC & Mc Donalds wrappers, single use straw wrappers take the cake in the plastic department - biggest joke since covid! Jolly Rogers would like to thank Precision Road Maintenance for the support to make this task possible and Domino's Pizza North Rockhampton for providing us with lunch on the day. Also thanks to Rockhampton Regional Council "BRING BACK MORE THAN YOU TAKE"

11.01.2022 *** JRFC River Clean *** Last Wednesday JRFC pirates were back in the the mighty Fitzroy river removing bulk rubbish, plastics and floating debris from our river system and river banks which weighed in at 230kgs! Thank you to the volunteers that participated in the clean up on the day, your efforts are highly admirable!... Just remember... What gets thrown onto the streets and in the gutters ends up in our waterways... "BRING BACK MORE THAN YOU TAKE"

01.01.2022 JRFC MOORES CREEK CLEAN UP 2.0 We thought last week was BAD..! Today we removed 100kgs more than we did last week and we only managed to clean half the area under the bridge near Bob Jane Tyres.... This week there was less aerosol cans, however, there was a hell of a lot more needles! We removed tyres.. mattresses, general litter, cans bottles, lots of broken glass, chairs, kids bike and scooter, credit cards, trolleys & various plastic items. 12 months ago, Jolly Rogers cleaned up this area and sadly it was dramatically worse today than it was back then. We need temporary surveillance in place to move around various hot spots to stop this happening! We need fencing around Stocklands shopping centre to stop the rubbish making it into our creek and river systems! We need more public toilets! If you would like to get involved with the Jolly Rogers or come along to lend a hand, please contact us via Facebook, email [email protected] or drop into our Op-shop @ 161 Berserker Street. A massive thank you to our volunteers who put in such a big effort, Domino's Pizza North Rockhampton who donate pizzas for our crew on these days & Precision Road Maintenance for your support and ensuring no clean up is a too big of a job for us.
