24.01.2022 Possibly the most dreaded day on most rural people’s calendar but appreciation post to Dirk Dijkstra and his team, for carting over 1000 bales in under 11 hours yesterday, beating the rain & having them all in safe, dry store. An AMAZING effort and HUGE thanks to Dirk, Damo, Zac, Freddie, Uncle, Jack, two mates of Jack’s, Reese, Rhiannon and Ted. Lucky horses and ponies for another season!... #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

20.01.2022 Good Morning All We had an important Staff Meeting last night where a range of issues were discussed. Today, I would like to give you all a friendly reminder about a few rules that are still very much in play as per DHHS Guidelines. ... With the current easing of Restrictions and life outside the JOLONG Gates slowly returning to days of old, it is easy for us all to become complacent. Jolong Park risks substantial fines should we be found to be non compliant & running our business irresponsibly around Covid-19. It is expected that EVERYONE wears their Face masks whilst visiting JP. This includes all staff. If you don’t have a mask on, you will be politely asked to do so. Using Hand Sanitiser upon arrival at JP - available at entrance to Barn 1, 2 & 3 AND in the Indoor Arena. SOCIAL DISTANCE - 1.5 metres. For both Covid-19 rules & JP rules, no more than 4 horses and riders are permitted in the indoor arena at any one time. Please help us all to stay safe and keep JOLONG PARK COVID FREE & COMPLIANT. 18.01.2022 Well done to our Jolong Park agistees who competed at the AOR Championships over the weekend. There were some great scores posted and beautifully presented horses! It was wonderful to see agistees attend the event to support one another and great to see Dirk compete in the Open Grand Prix. We even had two other agistees running the event and a couple more volunteering. What a special community we have! This position is Tuesday - Saturday inclusive, and consists of two shifts - Morning 8am-11am and Evening 4pm-6pm. Equine experience is essential. Some stable hand work may also be included. ... 15.01.2022 WORKING PUPIL OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE! We have an exciting position available for a working pupil, mentored by Grand Prix Dressage Rider, Coach and A Level Judge Dirk Dijkstra! This is an incredible opportunity for the right person to learn the ropes of running a performance stable in Australia. Dirk currently competes two horses at Grand Prix level, plus has a number of up and coming horses in training, as well as many agisted horses in his care. ... This is a live-in position with accommodation, meals, training and agistment included in the package. This position is best suited to a motivated, fit and energetic individual with a passion for horses. You must be confident handling performance horses and stallions and have a current drivers license. This position will include approx 5-6 hours per day, 6 days a week. Dirk is an Internationally accomplished horseman with over 40 years of experience in Europe and Asia Pacific. Dirk is one of a handful of Dressage riders in Australia competing successfully a...t the highest level as well as coaching many riders through their Dressage journeys. Dirk currently competes two Grand Prix horses in Australia as well as riding and training a team of FEI and young horses. In the Netherlands, Dirk competed primarily in show jumping events. Dirk is an EA Level 3 coach and A level Dressage Judge. You are welcome to come and stay at Jolong Park, we will have a get together dinner on the first night of each clinic. SR: The lovely Agistees, great facilities & best location. JP: How long are you going to be away in NZ for & do you plan to return?... SR: 3 months working in NZ as Equine Dentist & training a couple of horses, & yes returning to Jolong in January 2021 when I hope to get out competing. JP: Your best take home tip from Coach Dirk?
