23.01.2022 I've just been made aware of a bit of an interesting flaw with the iPhones that have Face ID. if you lose your phone, or more importantly have it stolen, the thief can pull down on the top left of the screen and immediately turn the phone on to aeroplane mode so it can't be picked up on Find my iPhone. This feature can be easily be turned off in the settings. Settings/Face ID & Passcode/unlock code/scroll down to Control Centre and turn off. It is still accessible the the camera recognises you but not to anyone else. It just gives you a bit more time before the phone can be powered down. My guess is this is why there is a set procedure to power the phone off. If you don't have an iPhone, it is hard to work out the process. Good luck

20.01.2022 Anyone using the cheapy phone cases with glitter in them, runs the risk of them bursting and ruining your phone. I’ve had to deal with the aftermath of this and it ain’t pretty!

16.01.2022 I get many clients who's phones have died from various ailments who are devastated to lose their photos. I personally pay Apple $1.50 per month for extra storage so that my photos are stored in the Cloud and available on all my devices. The cheaper alternative which I also use is Google Photos. It's a small app for your phone and it stores all of your photos on Google's Cloud. It seems rather set and forget. I like the extra insurance.

14.01.2022 Just a note that, unlike the other repairers, I only use the best screens that I can buy. All are original Apple LCDs that have been refurbished. In 10 years of repairs, I have found these to be the best quality with the lowest fail rate.

06.01.2022 It's a good idea to install all of the updates to keep your iPhone secure. The hackers are out there trying to get access and Apple are always trying to stay one step ahead of them. The beauty of the Apple system is that all software that is available has been vetted to try to ensure that no nasties get through.
