12.01.2022 Yes, there is a Jon in Jons Family Jewellers, our jeweller in fact. Jon started off working on a farm, then decided he wanted to fly planes and become a commercial pilot. Like many teens, this then turned around and Jon though he might become a builder and by accident ended up in a jewellery store. ... Things just lead one to the other, some by chance, some by choice, and that is how Jon fell into the jewellery trade. A close family friend had a jewellery store and needed someone to do some work so Jon thought he'd give it a go. Jon started working with Alan Metham who originally had a jewellery store in Gunnedah in 1952. Alan moved to Port Macquarie in 1967 and he and Jon's father were great friends - he also owned a few planes. To Jon's surprise, his family bought the business in 1986 and the rest is history. Jon and Lisa purchased the business from the family and you will find them in store to help you every day.

06.01.2022 Whenever a new arrival of diamonds arrives, we all get just a little excited. It usually means one step closer for something truly special for one of our customers. When the diamond arrives, the first thing we do is check the stone with the certificate, it definitely takes an expert to read one of these.

03.01.2022 It's not everyday that those in the industry get to visit an Australian Diamond mine. Back in April 2019, Lisa and Jon had the priviledge of seeing the Argyle Diamond Mine up close, it's located in the East Kimberley Region the remote north of Western Australia. This mine has since closed, but that does not mean there are no more diamonds, there are years worth of supply to still process, it truly is a part of our country's heritage.... We have a number of exquisite pink diamonds from this very mine in stock, come and take a look....they are just beautiful.

01.01.2022 You should NEVER clean your jewellery with toothpaste. Here's why.. Toothpaste isn't abrasive so it is can be quite good as a fine polish on jewellery, but it also gets in behind all the stones, into all the little crevices, and it's hard to get it out. ... You've all seen a little smear of toothpaste or white powder around bits and pieces on your toothbrush or sink? Well...that's what happens with your jewellery if you try and clean it with toothpaste. Our suggestion...come in and see us. Let us recommend what is the best product to clean your jewellery.
