24.01.2022 RACE RULES UPDATE The JA Classic will follow the Triathlon Australia Race Rules, however there are a few rule variations that consider the nature of the course location of our event but also allow our event to run safely and smoothly. These are: Shoes given this is a beach only run leg, competitors will be permitted to run barefoot or use shoes during the run leg. If you use shoes they must be discarded before the swim leg. ... Bare torso competitors are permitted to run with a bare torso (or with bathers), this ensures we cater for cross code athletes such as surf club members. Swim Caps it is mandatory to wear a swim cap during the swim leg Littering - Discarding items, e.g. gel wrappers as well as goggles and caps etc., on any part of the course except in a discard zone at an aid stations or in transition (for shoes, caps and goggles) will result in an infringements which may result in disqualification See TA Race competition rules at - http://www.triathlon.org.au/Tech/Race_Competition_Rules.htm

13.01.2022 JA Classic State Champs Podium 2020 Congratulations to the finishers of the Joondalup Autumn Classic Aquathlon 2020 which proceeded under ideal conditions today despite a bleak weather outlook. Big thanks to Team XTR and XTR Multisports for reviving the JA Classic and hosting the WA Sate Championship - 365 and making it happen!! The Aquathlon State Championship 2020 podium winners over the long course race of 2.5km Run, 1000m Swim, 2.5km Run, are:... Females 1. Felicity Sheedy-Ryan 2. Madison Toovey 3. Petra Jerejian Males 1. Guy Crawford 2. Rahul Jegatheva 3. Aaron Houghton We extend our congratulations to Daniel Buis who finished 3rd overall after tussling with the leaders throughout the race. Unfortunately being in the 16-19 Yrs age category Daniel did not qualify for the TWA State Championships awards that are applicable to Open and +20 Yrs age groups.
