25.01.2022 .... back view of coat, two views of dress. I really enjoyed working out and adding the extra little touches here.

25.01.2022 Another dolly show/sale day coming up, thanks to the lovely people at the doll collectors' group. This will be on Sunday, 16th August at Cannington. If you would like to book a table (dolls, toys, hobbies), please let me know and I can give you contact details for the organiser. Big thanks to Doll Doctor for sharing.

25.01.2022 One of our ladies has some doll moulds she would like to sell. There are 16 assorted, the majority are "head only". Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks.

23.01.2022 Went shopping yesterday and now everyone has a lamp with a magnifier built in. So pleased. I found the second mould for Naomi (Jennifer Esteban's all-porcelain fairy) and am pouring her. Of course, the mould wasn't anywhere near where it should have been!

22.01.2022 In response to the current health situation and after obtaining the views of my wonderful dolly ladies, we will defer classes for the next couple of months. Hopefully the world may start returning to some form of normal before too long. Thank you all for your friendship and patience. Keep in touch!

21.01.2022 The mould set for the BJD, Megan, has arrived so I shall be pouring over this weekend. Beaut little 12" BJD in porcelain, from the Porcelain Place. Photo is from the Porcelain Place.

21.01.2022 This is my little A.T. Silver with her hair down and showing her outfit with the hood down.

21.01.2022 The head mould for Zelda is on its way! This is an additional head to fit the 13 ball-jointed body set from The Porcelain Place and was presented at a convention as a flapper. As is usual with a new mould, greenware will be offered at a discounted price. Check The Porcelain Place facebook page for pictures of Zelda.

20.01.2022 The little Poppy mould from the Porcelain Place has turned out to be so easy to pour and clean! She is a quite lovely little girl and below are two versions of Poppy...

19.01.2022 Unfortunately I'm very good at losing things and then finding them - in one case, three years later in a drawer! When I got stronger shelving for the moulds, I tried to be organised but didn't quite work out so I'm still looking for heads to match bodies etc. Need Marsha's head and hands to shout out to me! Kaye, Ivan's head is one I'm still looking for! Found his arms, legs, shoulderplate and will keep searching....... this is typical me!

17.01.2022 I started with apricot tights for Kayla, decided on a grey/black/colour scheme so made her some grey tights. She also has a hat and coat, this time her hat is a straw boater so the girls are all "the same but different" -

17.01.2022 After a lengthy break, at last a post! Life has seemed so busy lately, went to the doll sale day and the miniatures show in August, finally got back to my dollies. Agonising over how to dress my latest Zelda from the Porcelain Place but it came to me eventually - she is the girl in white and her sister was dressed a few months ago.

16.01.2022 So pleased to have the opportunity to have this little boy made by our very dear friend, Roz who sadly passed away earlier this year. He was rescued by Wendy and has now joined our dolly family.

16.01.2022 Hi, everyone! Dolly classes are continuing to be so enjoyable, lovely bunch of ladies coming along. Welcome Jacquie to our Saturday mornings, a wonderful addition to our group. As discussed, I have made a booking for a different sort of Friday get-together - Quiz Night at the River Deck!!! Booked for the 25th October beginning at 5:30pm. I know it's early for some but I am a Pom who prefers early meals. I'm told the quiz night is held DURING the meal so let's hope we don't know the answers to questions while having a mouthful of food haha

15.01.2022 I am in a very fortunate position in that I have my moulds, slip, kilns etc all close to hand. I can still sit and create and yesterday made a brand new outfit for Rachel by Karen Blandford. Will show picture tomorrow. Very quiet and looking forward to the day we can all get together again for classes. Miss all you ladies xxxxx

13.01.2022 Hello, everybody. Well, no class this coming Saturday, 28th March and then it would seem to be a wait-and-see situation. Please all keep well in the meantime.

13.01.2022 Got a couple of new table lamps last week with magnifiers in them. Unfortunately one student has to work with a lamp and standard magnifying glass but now no excuses ......

13.01.2022 ... and one of my favourite dolls has to be the googly. Here is a sister and brother in dark skin tone - I'm sure I've still got some of the girl's dress material but it's obviously in a safe place!

11.01.2022 Phew, after quite a bit of searching, I found the Ivan head mould - 26" in with the 20" moulds, bottom shelf right at the back! All poured now. Sooo looking forward to our TRAVELLER project.

11.01.2022 Megan is the second of our BJDs (ball-jointed dolls) from Tony Tanner at The Porcelain Place. This girl has painted eyes and I'm quite pleased with the way she turned out.

11.01.2022 Taking advantage of our short break to jazz up the studio - fresh chairs and placemats. Feels better already! Looking forward to the return of classes on 11th January, 2020. I am hoping to finish making one of each half doll from the moulds I have. Some ladies are keen to make the little carousel horse, but as this is not something that has the support of the whole class, I am hoping that our 2020 project can be entitled "CLOAK" and will give each of us a chance to incorporate the cloak hooks I picked up last year - maybe a little person to accompany the horse? Enjoy the break, see you soon xxxx

11.01.2022 Smiling Kayla, poured in Desert Tan, wanted blue and so also has a hat (bonnet) and a different style of coat -

10.01.2022 This is the second of our BJDs (ball jointed dolls) from The Porcelain Place. She's Megan and about 13" tall.

09.01.2022 Limited numbers, but we have been able to return to class. So great to be able to catch up with the dolly ladies. Staggered classes unfortunately means that not everybody will be catching up with everyone else right now, but hopefully it won't be too long. Thanks for coming along, ladies, love you all!

07.01.2022 So pleased to let you know that we've got a couple of additions to the mould list - 14" Kayla I and II, 14" Emily, 25" Carly. See pictures in class. Have already started pouring..... Looking forward to tomorrow after feeling "sinusy" today!

05.01.2022 Hi, everyone! It's been a while, I know, had cataract surgeries and still waiting for vision to clear properly. My new Marsha is ready to be dressed, my gorgeous baby Katie has a bonnet, socks and shoes but that's all so far. Remade the wonderful Shanelle by Dianna Effner, again with goth/dark eyes and this time dressed in white..... keeping busy. Our Christmas get-together has been booked for 5:30pm, Friday evening, 20th December at the River Deck. Although Hortense is enjoying herself on holiday in Switzerland from now until early January, it should be a great evening (we'll drink to Hortense) and our usual gift exchange will be on - bring a gift to get a gift. Thanks for checking in!

04.01.2022 Very excited now that the Megan mould set is on the way! A true modern BJD to play with.

04.01.2022 Luv this quirky little Effner girl - who still needs more sparkle!

04.01.2022 Beaut day yesterday, all of us achieved something! Welcome to Kerry Williams, so nice to have you join us and letting us see the beautiful fairy stand made by Ken.

03.01.2022 We are mourning the very sad loss of one of our former classmates and great friend, Roz. Life threw some terrible stuff her way but she always worked around it and got on with living. We shall all miss her very much.

03.01.2022 We had one of our regular get-togethers today, this time out at the Swan View Tavern. Four dolly ladies went. Unfortunately two were not able to make it, fingers crossed for next time.

01.01.2022 I love the Dianna Effner dolls and decided to redress Shannon. I love her in this brown silk, keeps that slightly gothic look that she carries so well.

01.01.2022 .... and this is my little Bru milette on the Bell milette body (slightly different to the Seeley body) wearing a cape but with her bonnet nearby.

01.01.2022 I've been busy making, dressing and playing with my recent mould acquisitions - the 14" Emily, Kayla and Smiling Kayla by Dianna Effner. This is Emily in her dress, hat, coat and matching bag -

01.01.2022 Isolation has its consolations. Have been making dresses for some dolls. The doll in pink and the one in brown have actually been waiting about 25 years for clothing! I made their wigs and socks, put shoes on them and they remained that way until now. I had a pattern for the brown dress and it came a bit large. I found a picture on the internet that I knew I had to try to make for my A.T. Silver. No pattern so I made one up and am quite pleased with the result. These girls are the 10" milettes on Seeley body.
