23.01.2022 To our valued patients and the community At Jordan Springs Dental Care, we have made the promise to put you, our community, first by upholding the highest standards and values in the practice of dentistry. As such, in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been closely monitoring the recommendations and guidelines from relevant health authorities from the start, and after much deliberation as a team, have come to a decision regarding the current circumstances the COVID-19... crisis. The Australian Dental Association (ADA) has recently released a framework providing dentists guidance on dental treatment in these unprecedented times. In this framework, the ADA strongly recommends deferring all non-essential treatment till the 30th of April 2020, with the provision of urgent and emergency dental care only in the time being. Please note that this date may change, and tighter restrictions may also be recommended as the situation evolves. We are an accredited dental practice and our priorities lie with the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and dentists. As such, we have made the decision to apply the recommendations of ADA. Our staff will be in contact with you shortly if your appointment fits in this category and needs to be rescheduled, this includes postponing all preventative routine check up and cosmetic dental procedures. We will also be limiting our procedures according to the ADA guidelines, prioritising dental needs of urgent and emergency nature. We will be closely monitoring for any updates and communicate with you if we adopt any changes. Your safety and health is our top priority. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging period. However difficult matters are at present, humanity will ultimately pass through this ordeal, and we will emerge on the other side with greater insight and with a deeper appreciation of its inherent oneness and interdependence. Once again, thank you for your continued support! Kind regards Dr Janis, Dr Brian and Dr Kavya

15.01.2022 Meet Sam Sam thinks it's OK to only brush his teeth once a day So don't be like Sam. Brush twice a day, every day... because as this vid will show you, bad things happen when you don't. #WorldOralHealthDay
15.01.2022 Here’s something you may not know - nearly half the surface area of your teeth lies between them. If you’re solely relying on brushing, you’re not cleaning a large portion of your teeth, which in turn can affect how healthy your teeth and gums are. By removing the plaque from between your teeth, you’re helping to prevent gum disease, tooth decay and halitosis, otherwise known as bad breath. So flossing, or interdental cleaning as it’s officially known, is an essential part ...of caring for your teeth and gums and should be an integral pat of your dental health routine along with brushing. But it’s not just adults who need to floss. Kids should start cleaning between their teeth as soon as they have two teeth in contact but until the age of 10, it’s best if the parent does the flossing as younger kids don’t have the manual dexterity needed to floss effectively. 07.01.2022 Important Updates On COVID-19 Additional Precautionary Measures We are taking additional precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety to all our patients and staff this is our highest priority.... Our practice remains open during this time on normal business hours and we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. We are following the advice provided by the relevant Government Health Departments and keeping your health and safety front of our mind. What measures are Jordan Springs Dental Care taking to keep patients safe and well? All patients are screened when scheduling their appointment, again, on attendance on the day of their appointment, to ensure that they do not have any symptoms related to COVID-19, with no overseas travel in the past 14 days, or if they have come in close contact with a suspected or known case of Coronavirus. This screening process ensures patients with suspected criteria do not attend the practice. All magazines and toys are removed from waiting rooms. Increase frequency of cleaning and sanitisation of our waiting rooms and clinical treatment rooms surfaces including seating, reception desk, door handles, EFTPOS machine etc. Hand sanitisers are available for use for all patients on arrival and on departure of their appointments. All our Clinicians and Staff members have been thoroughly briefed on the importance of attending work only in the absence of symptoms related to COVID-19, and if they have not been overseas the past 14 days or have not been in contact with a suspected or confirmed case. Our constant and strict adherence to our already high infection control standards. What can patients do to help? If you feel unwell, we ask that you do not attend the clinic. Phone ahead and one of our friendly front desk staff will be able to help you reschedule your appointment or assist with your concerns. If you have travelled overseas within the last 14 days, we ask that you self-quarantine. Frequent hand sanitising during your visits and practice good cough/sneeze etiquette with tissue or a flexed elbow. Dispose the tissues in the bin provided. Rest assured that your health, safety and well-being are of utmost importance to us. Thank you for your support and patience during this uncertain time. We will continue to monitor and update you of any changes resulting in this public health crisis. Kind regards, Dr Janis, Dr Brian, Dr Kavya
05.01.2022 Is an over-the-counter ‘boil and bite’ mouthguard good enough to protect your children from sports related injuries? Mouthguards protect your mouth and jaw by a...bsorbing and spreading the impact from physical contact, so only a custom-fitted mouthguard is designed to best protect your jaw and teeth.
