09.01.2022 The incredible artwork pictured was created by Kirsten Gray, the cousin of one of our Assistant Principals' Ms Mitchell. Kirsten is a Muruwari/Yuwalaraay woman, a former child protection solicitor and an Indigenous policy officer at the Australian Human Rights Commission, the NT royal commission and researcher at the Jumbunna Institute. The artwork was inspired by David Thornburg's re-imagining of learning spaces to inspire contemporary learning. Each part of the artwork is ...representative of this theory. -Campires A place for a community of learners to sit together, listen to each other and learn from storytellers. -Watering Hole A place for learning from peers in small groups -Cave An area to be alone and to reflect or work independently, without interruption or distraction from others -Swamp For when we get stuck on a task or concept and need to meet in a group with an expert. -Plains For when everyone is working independently, spread out wherever they need to be. We have developed every aspect of our school with consideration of the Darug nation on which we meet, landscape on which we work and community in which we teach. This relationship and connection to our traditional custodians is something that our school is committed to continuing and enhancing as our school continues to grow. We are now live on Instagram! Please follow us @jordanspringsps for more updates.
