23.01.2022 Perths housing market experienced a rebound of activity at the end of last year with sales turnover during the December quarter moving back to the long term average for the metropolitan area. Earlier analysis by the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia showed the median house price lifting by 4 per cent on the previous quarter, suggesting 2013 would end up with growth of at least 7 per cent across the year.

22.01.2022 As expected, the RBA has held the cash rates again. The property market can expect a steady growth in the meantime, with first home buyers and investors alike still going strong. With the Australian dollar sitting about 90 cents below parity with the US dollar however, foreign investors might start to shy away from the local property market. Homeowners will definitely need to keep a keen eye on our exchange rates as well as the next cash rate announcement. Cash rate announcements are usually on the first Tuesday of every month. :)

17.01.2022 As expected, the Reserve Bank has announced a hold on the current interest rates as they wait for the interest rate cuts and holds from previous announcements leading up to this one to gain traction. Low mining investments have also contributed to the increase in the unemployment rate. With that and an unusually strong Australian dollar in tow, sentiments are that the next announcement will see a similar hold on interest rates to give the economy more time to react to interest rate cuts. Do not be surprised however if the RBA decides to slash interest rates again to provide even more traction, as the economy transitions from mining to construction.
