24.01.2022 Petite erreur. C’est pas 30 ans comme clerk de notaire que j’ai dit, c’est environs 30 ans fans l’orchestre de la Police après avoir été clerc de notaire que j’ai dit. (Small error. It’s not 30 years that dad worked as a Notary clerk that I said, but that he worked for about 30 or so years in the Mauritius Police Band after having worked as a Notary clerk that I said. )

23.01.2022 53 years ago, this vinyl record was released with its music on the ‘A Side’ to last '..forever and ever'. My dad also composed another piece of music for its ‘...B Side’ , titled Our Colours which however due to politics, the Mauritius Police Band maestro decided his piece to be the B Side instead. Nobody knows what that piece sounds like, I don't even know it myself. However, Our Colours is still being played by the Mauritius Police Band today, as well as the Prison Police Band which my dad had formed and managed for 20 years after his retirement. Here's a link to Our Colours as another piece that was composed by dad 53 years ago when our 4 coloured flag was raised for the very first time. If anyone still has that vinyl, I'll buy it. p.s. 09.01.2022 Père de la Nation (Father of the Nation) - is another piece composed by my dad Philippe Gentil and lyrics written by Jean-Georges Prosper, another collaboration... they did besides the National Anthem of Mauritius , in honor of the late Prime Minister Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam who brought the country to Independence. These orchestral arrangements by my dad are the originals and the lyrics document is partly printed with original fixings to suit the melodic arrangement. See more
