25.01.2022 The strength of a community is defined by its ability to welcome a stranger from the edge into its centre Powerful words re-stated by the wonderful Josh Moorhouse at today’s Governor’s Leadership Foundation Josh Moorhouse
23.01.2022 Really grateful for this opportunity and hope this conversation is meaningful for anyone watching. Here's the full episode:
23.01.2022 "Each different part of the system wants to identify it as being another part of the systems fault..."
21.01.2022 Perhaps in place of questions, advice, and the desire to fix, could we just listen?
20.01.2022 Presenting alternative ways to share, and be with a person, through experiences of suicide. This is a thoughtfully written post from Humane clinic - Psychotherapy, counselling, education & consultancy
20.01.2022 Mfw receiving a distinction on the 1st assesment for Applied Health at University of Tasmania !! (Ok this is actually me awkwardly smiling into the camera to share how I FELT when receiving my grade a week ago..) Successfully analysing health data to challenge/support resourcing & explaining the relationship between data & the health reform agenda was a great way to challenge unhelpful past stories and personal beliefs about my incompetency with numbers! ... Grateful for this feedback, too: "Congratulations on a well- expressed discussion which clearly shows your understanding of the links between the use of data andreform in the Australian Health and Community sector."
20.01.2022 Super grateful to Kelly Ann McKercher for gifting me their new book! "Co-design is more than a process, it is a social movement focused on challenging and changing inequitable power structures. Designing with, not for people." https://www.beyondstickynotes.com/
17.01.2022 "The Power Threat Meaning Framework can be used as a way of helping people to create more hopeful narratives or stories about their lives and the difficulties they have faced or are still facing, instead of seeing themselves as blameworthy, weak, deficient or ‘mentally ill’. - Dr Lucy Johnstone
16.01.2022 There's absolutely nothing wrong with you if you didn't use a pandemic or any other moment of adversity as an opportunity to grow, become a 'better or stronger version of yourself', etc; We don't always have to choose growth.
14.01.2022 Listening to Matt Ball answer my question, "What does a genuine response to mental health crisis look like?"
14.01.2022 People are experiencing mental health distress and crisis. These times can be the darkest and most terrifying moments of one’s life. Rather than thinking this m...eans there is something wrong with a person, many believe that this is a part of a human experience. Whether you believe this or not, one thing remains the same. Peoples’ pain is too often being exacerbated by current responses from the mental health system. We're building out how we, as a community can tap into lived experience and design new ways to support services and surface opportunities for better wellness in community. 12.01.2022 Honoured to have been one of 50 South Australian youth representatives at Global Shapers Adelaide intergenerational forum this morning! Great to connect with new people including Callum from Young Blood - Men's Health Matters. At our table, we discussed livability and wellbeing in SA, considered ways that young people might be included in the solution ecosystem and shared a vision for SA being known as The Wellbeing State. I forgot to take photos whilst in the forum but luckily Callum had my back and jumped in for a quick selfie after we left! Haha
12.01.2022 Awesome initiative from the Humane Clinic offering low cost therapy for anyone experiencing distress regardless of having a diagnosis.

08.01.2022 Late last year I was gifted a copy of Be More Pirate. After reading, I started writing about the experience, which has led to the pleasure and honour of contributing to the sequel! So excited that preordering for "How To: Be More Pirate!" is now available! https://ownit.london/shop/how-to-be-more-pirate/ Super grateful to be a part of the global pirate crew, and especially thankful to Alex Barker for reaching out to me, staying in touch, and making this happen through an incr...edibly strange year. "The only certainty is uncertainty, it’s how we respond that matters, so now is the time for pirates..."
