22.01.2022 Which rep range should i be in to build muscle, lose fat and gain strength? I bet you've all heard there is particular rep and weight ranges to hit certain goals you may have, and is certain aspects this may be correct. However rep or weight rages don't exactly determine whether you will reach your goal or not. They will more than likely determine how quick you get there. So lets work out what works for what.... Lose fat: Any rep range Build muscle: Any rep range Gain strength: Any rep range Your muscles can't count, all they feel is the workload your putting on them. My advice to you is experiment and see how your body adapts the any rep range. After all the body will improve if your training and eating right. 15.01.2022 NO CARBS AFTER 6PM Have you ever heard someone say to you, if you have carbs after 6pm that it will just turn into fat?? Well good news for you, it's completely wrong!!... If we look at the facts, the whole main argument is that when you sleep your metabolic rate is suppose to slow down meaning you won't burn as many calories turning the carbs into fat. Well it's quite the contrary, your metabolism is proving to increase whilst sleeping so let's chuck that theory in the bin. Secondly based on figures, our insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance remain elevated more at night then the next morning. But keep this in mind after a night of fasting whilst you sleep it will decrease and not be as elevated, but if you based this figures during the day and night time then there is actually no difference so again lets chuck that theory in the bin. 12.01.2022 CHEAT MEAL ENVY I'm sure everyone has heard someone mention how there counting down to there cheat meal! A cheat meal for anyone who doesn't know is simply an excess of calories or carbohydrates into your daily calorie intake. ... Well I'm here to give you a little insight into just how it can be effective in the fat loss process. FACT: When your in a calorie deficit your glycogen stores will be lower than normal, so what this will lead to is the body and muscle fatiguing a lot quicker. BENEFIT: Incorporating a cheat meal will help replenish these stores and produce a higher energy levels and help with training much harder your next few workouts! FACT: When you body gets use to a certain level of calories, your metabolism tends to decrease and slow down due to not having to work extra hard. BENEFIT: A cheat meal will shock your metabolism and help increase the rate in which it works at. Now keep in mind this isn't going to work if you decide to have a cheat week!! A little side note is, the leaner you are the more cheat meals you can allow. So just because your on a good diet doesn't allow you to have several cheat meals a week if your at a higher body fat percentage. 12.01.2022 Consistency is keys Photo to the left - 75kg (roughly) Photo on right... - 80kg These photos are take roughly around 1 year apart, and as you can see the photo on the right I have grown more muscle and maintain a lower body fat. What's the secret to this magical transformation?????? There is none, what's most important is staying consistent with your training and eating. A lot of people will hit their goal and end up back from where they started. We set goals to reach but not give up once we've reached them. 10.01.2022 Training tip of the day Plateaus If you ever feel as though you plateauing and not making any progress with your muscle gain, how can you fix this?... Simple, change your training regime up! This can be as simple as changing exercises from dumbbell's to barbells, or adding or taking away rep ranges. 06.01.2022 HITT vs LISS cardio which is better? HITT: high intense interval training LISS: low intensity steady state ... Let me make this simple for everyone, they both work it's all up to each individual's choice. A recommendation of mine is use which ever suite your time frame.
