25.01.2022 Does sticky tape fix leaks?

24.01.2022 Found the problem!

23.01.2022 Usually the cable relatively simply goes down the drain and unblocks blockages but tonight it has gone up an inspection opening, pushed the concrete lid off and started snaking around in the garden. I'm going to use that io now that I know it's there : D

23.01.2022 Checking CO emissions / safe heater operation before winter.

22.01.2022 Who wants to help me peel the film off these deep fryers? I also need to convert them from natural gas to propane. You can read the instruction sheet and bark orders at me. It will be tonnes of fun

21.01.2022 How long since you saw one of these still in use?

21.01.2022 Half a million on the original engine in my van this morning. There'll be a few more kms and jugs of oil through it before I retire it

20.01.2022 This bathroom was flooded by a burst hose for a nasty little Christmas surprise this afternoon

19.01.2022 Here's a Novelli Cara close coupled toilet suite and an Arto mini vanity basin I finished installing today.

18.01.2022 The prankster in all of us wishes we could have witnessed this kitchen spout flying off XD

18.01.2022 Today we installed a 22000L precast concrete rainwater tank in Banksia Park. Yesterday we pulled out 64 cubic metres of ground (4m x 4m x 4m) ready for base preparation this morning, completed in time for 0930 delivery. The delivery itself took 3 hours, craning just under 10 tonnes worth of components into position. Ri Industries supplied and delivered the tank and I'm going to say their product and the performance of their delivery driver was first class. In this pic we had just positioned the riser over the access hole and traced the inside with a crayon, then lifted the riser out of the way so I could put the mastic on the tank.

16.01.2022 Just finished installing a Miele semi integrated dishwasher with a Franke Karst sink, KWC Eve mixer, and HiFlow inline water filter

15.01.2022 This plumber is holidaying in far north Queensland this week #thisisqueensland #fitzroyisland

15.01.2022 Well this is exciting

14.01.2022 Check the condition of the hoses under your basin, sink, and laundry tub before you go away for the long weekend!

14.01.2022 Here I'm using an unconventional approach to repairing this broken drain. It was critical that I limit the damage to floor tiles because exact replacements aren't available and we only have 40 original spares. I decided to try drilling a 450mm core hole and lifting the piece out. In order to be able to do that, I cut the vertical pipe which would have otherwise held onto the concrete piece and prevented its removal. The conventional way of cutting a floor is to use a demolition saw which makes straight cuts that need to be overlapped at the corners. Those over-cuts damage tiles adjacent to the area needing to be excavated which risked exceeding our 40 tile limit.

13.01.2022 This is a UV sterilisation system I installed a few years ago. Today it received new UV lamps and the addition of a carbon filter upstream of the UV steriliser.

13.01.2022 Water and electricity can mix but sparks fly out the circuit breaker when you try turning it back on

13.01.2022 I bet you have several lithium batteries in your house but did you know that you should NOT let them run right down before recharging them? http://www.techrepublic.com//five-tips-for-extending-lith/

13.01.2022 I used 30 hessian bags to square up the footing pads, and 100kg of concrete to support gullies and inspection openings. (plungers can break the bottom of drains when they strike unsupported pipe) All penetrations through concrete members are double-wrapped with foam, and penetrations leaving the building are fitted with swivel joints to reduce the risk of the drains breaking with ground movement. Nearest is the bathroom group, then the laundry group, and farthest away is the ...kitchen. The 100mm pipe in the kitchen is a conduit for water pipes to be installed under the slab to the island bench. The laundry group has 2x 50mm risers which is unusual. The distant one is being extended to the roof space to become a tundish for condensate waste from the air conditioner. The nearest riser is a basin waste deliberately raised just outside the bathroom in the garage floor which will be 344mm higher than the bathroom floor, hence the foam wrap on the riser. Every branch leaving the building will have its own inspection opening raised to surface which you can see to the right in this pic. See more

12.01.2022 Customers often ask me how tree roots get into drains. Here's a photo I took yesterday that answers that question

11.01.2022 I like this Raymor Dublin sink mixer with vege spray. Usually mixers with vege sprays hang a retractable hose through the body of the mixer to below the sink and it typically gets tangled on valves etc and never retracts smoothly. This mixer eliminates all that so check it out if you're in the market for a sink mixer.

11.01.2022 This thing is a Copper made by metters. Santina used to use it once a year to make tomato sauce (the last batch was made in the late 80s). It still has gas connected to it which is how it caught my attention

09.01.2022 Here's a new branch and section of drain I installed yesterday. Customer dug the trench and did a good job of it too.

09.01.2022 225mm PVC silt trap bucket made to order in Adelaide. Also shown is a laser cut stainless steel silt trap lid. Both items #madelocal by Storm Plastics #AustralianMade #SAGreat The other pics show the old clay silt trap in the (commercial) kitchen floor and why you would want a new silt trap bucket once your old one goes missing during renovations. http://www.stormplastics.com.au/

08.01.2022 Today I'm installing a new septic tailpipe in Banksia Park as part of a domestic subdivision. I should be careful not to talk too soon but this could be the easiest 25m of drain I've ever installed.

07.01.2022 When a roof leak is too hard to fix there's always this

06.01.2022 Small drains just got easier to unblock with this mini drain machine. Laundry drains often don't have inspection openings to facilitate maintenance so the only access is via the floorwaste. This machine is the best solution I know of that doesn't involve digging up the drain.

06.01.2022 Surprise! Anything wrong with this picture?
