24.01.2022 New additions - patternless N.l.""pilbarensis"" group

24.01.2022 Picture comparison! The first two pictures are taken at 6am with cloud coverage. The second two pictures are taken towards midday with the sun overhead. (Different days) Of course the sand colour in the background also affects how the camera captures these images differently. The other factor that goes into the difference in the animals appearance in these two photos is that these animal's colours will actually brighten up for various reasons and dull back down again. During the photos in full sun, this animal was fully "fired up", with his colours on display. Whereas in the 6am shoot, he was dulled out.

24.01.2022 It begins! I am so pumped for this pairing! The female's dark striping has also enhanced since the seperate photo of her was taken, she is looking incredible

24.01.2022 Phoenix lizard? How appropriate for an animal from the first Nephrurus clutch I ever produced!

23.01.2022 A couple of fresh N.aspers out of their eggs

23.01.2022 Heart shaped tails! There are two factors that contribute to the shape of an N.levis.levis/pilbaresnis/occidentalis' tail shape. Genetics & Food... The tail is used as a fat storage so it is no doubt that the more food they are eating, the higher the chance of a fat tail. Some animals tails however, will not grow to this impressive shaped size no matter how much they eat. Some animals are just simply genetically bound to have thinner carrot shaped tails. Breeding females will often lack this impressive fat tail as they use up the energy stored within it to keep them going through their pregnancy and produce their eggs. As such, it is usually seen displayed on males, but that's not to say females don't have them too! Considering it is genetically linked, tail shape is something to keep in mind when breeding. Animals with large heart shaped tails are a lot more impressive and a larger tail means more reserves for that animal to call upon when needed. Thin, carrot shaped tails can still be quite large but the focus here is the size and shape of the tail respective to the animal. If a large female has a carrot shaped tail that is bigger than a smaller animals heart shaped tail, that is beside the point. If she had a heart shaped tail it would be even bigger. Note the width of the tail in comparison to the tail base and the curvature at the top of the tail creating a shape

22.01.2022 New addition - high white N.l.pilbarensis It will be interesting to see what comes from my extreme high white X this female . In time we will hopefully see the results

22.01.2022 My second black asper female . This girl is a little smaller than the other one but I'm hoping she will be kicking into breeding mode very soon . She is absolutely covered in sand so you don't really get a feel for her deep black colour. It's the one thing that I dislike about red sand

21.01.2022 Thanks again for all of your support! I hope you are all enjoying your breaks and your animal fam's are going well . 2018 has been a great year with a few lessons learned along the way. When I step back and think for a second about the fact that 600 people have noticed the page and enjoyed it enough to like it and follow along, I realise just how crazy that really is. If all 600 of you were standing together in front of me, I probably couldn't even keep my composure long enough for a sentence to come out of my mouth!

21.01.2022 New phone, new camera, new look. The coming posts should be interesting as I figure out this new camera, not sure if I like it better or not yet... What do you think?

21.01.2022 Group photo to show Extreme White's first baby and it's mum . 13 days old!

21.01.2022 Peekaboo What exciting Nephrurus plans do you have this season??

21.01.2022 First black aspers of the season These two surprised me, coming out pretty early for aspers with the first hatching on day 74 of incubation and the second on day 76. I forgot how little black they have when they first hatch . They darken so much over time. Side note to anyone wondering. Everything is still going strong, my unspoken brake from regular posts is not due to any issues with the animals, just changes in my personal life. The hatching season has well and truly begun, I just haven't been getting around to posting any of it. Thanks for waiting and let the updates begin!

20.01.2022 Another of his matings that I managed to capture . This female is a very productive animal so I have my for this pairing.

18.01.2022 First black asper eggs of the season! When comparing them, the top egg looks a little more yellow, indicative of an infertile egg however this could just be due to its denser sand coating. It is currently too early to candle as nothing can be seen inside an egg that has been laid at the appropriate time and been collected straight away. It can take up to 48hrs after being laid for the germinal disk to attach, which can be spotted when candling as a red circle on the upward... facing side of the egg and can not be rotated at all costs. This is due to the fact that the germinal disk attached to the upward facing side of the egg since that is were there is a pocket of air inside the egg, no matter how much it was rotated around during the burying process before it started attaching. Rolling the egg after it has begun attaching means that the air bubble will be moved away from the germinal disk, causing it to drown and or be damaged by the weight of the liquids, resulting in death. 18.01.2022 *cuddles up closer and speaks softly into sibling's egg"

16.01.2022 Happy New Year! Wishing you all a fantastic year! 2018 was an incredible year. I had lots of success over this past year, all be it with plenty of lessons learned along the way. I have talked to so many people and made some great friends. I have been very lucky to acquire some beautiful animals and start some exciting projects. I will continue to push the limits in 2019 to see what I can achieve. My life is going to get dramatically busier this year but that wont me slow down... with these animals. I will continue to expand at an even faster rate than what I have been so far and I will be starting a few new ventures too. I am currently experimenting with building a self sufficient cricket colony and will be aiming to grow it into a cricket supply business. There are also some extremely exciting animals coming in the next couple of months that I cant wait to work with! Thanks to each and every one of you and I hope you have a positive, successful, happy, exciting, fantastic year!

15.01.2022 Red asper Unlike black aspers, red sand dosen't hide away their beauty quite as much

13.01.2022 Thanks everyone for the support!

13.01.2022 How's everyone? I was MIA for a while because of my personal life but I'm back now Stay tuned in the coming days as I am going to be offering up some excess Pilbarensis ... I now know exactly what I am holding back and what I am letting go so there will be a number of adults and youngins up for grabs, including some breeding pairs.

13.01.2022 Lighting can make a big difference! Check out this Nlp's colouring under a UV light. He is a bright fluro yellow, I swear I didn't assault him with a highlighter!

12.01.2022 It's like digging up gold N.l.pilbarensis eggs

09.01.2022 A couple fresh possible het albinos

09.01.2022 My first Jellybean Levis Levis hatched out yesterday! I'm in love with Levis Levis so I was pretty excited to see this little fella in the incubator. Can't wait until it starts to develop its colours, it should be a nice red or orange hopefully. For those who don't know "Jellybean" is a name for the patternless variety of Levi's Levis. Some simply call it patternless but I prefer Jellybean.... Side note, my sister has an obsession with names like jellybean and beans so she has aptly named this one Jellybean and will be naming the whole family tree in the years to come . Stay tuned for Beans and Borris, names in place for the next Jellybeans to be

08.01.2022 3x speed video of an N.l.pilbarensis hatching! This is the full clip, 19mins condensed to 6 and a half. I will upload shorter clips of the action when I have time

08.01.2022 Another lovely new addition from Ganda Geckos. A nice high white. I'm interested to see what colour this one turns out .

08.01.2022 My white boy's second child. 7 days old in this photo. From the same mum as his first baby. There's a lot more black patterning on this one, though I personally like this fact, In my ultimate vision for the white project, I see all white geckos. Though a secondary vision is all white geckos with their dark patterning still showing.... If you can't envision what I'm talking about, the whole gecko at this point will change colour, the pink area is all potential white area, the white stripe on the back will be white and the black patterning will change colour, but it will stay within the dark range. One day I hope to see both all white pilbs and pilbs that are all white bit still have their dark patterning (the pattern that shows up black on a hatchling). Time will tell if this is possible. See more

07.01.2022 Nephrururs levis pilbarensis hatching! Iv'e cut this video up to remove all the downtime and show only the action! Sorry about the quality, it was the best I could do with what I had, recording inside the incubator through the lid of the container.

07.01.2022 My male black asper This guy is such a rich black, contrasting well off of my females, they make great pairings

06.01.2022 More Sonnemann line het albino X het albino eggs They were obviously laid a little late and kicked around during the process resulting in the germinal disk being rotated away from the top of the egg. They are in the incubator now and one weeks time should tell whether they are going to make it or not On a lighter note this first time female produced 2 fertile eggs in her first clutch, what a champion

04.01.2022 Hooray! Here I was thinking this female may never produce a clutch for me. She flat out refused him countless times. I was sitting there discussing her rebellion against breeding and thought I may aswell put him in with her while chatting. Several minutes later I yanked the tub open to see him on top of her. I froze like a statue as to not interrupt them, slowly sliding the tub shut. When I came back again later they were locked . She adds more black asper eggs to the incubator for me

04.01.2022 I have created a group for knob tailed geckos (Aussie residents only) check it out, it is off to an awesome start

04.01.2022 N.asper Black vs Red A colour comparison - Pictured below are 5 black asper specimens and 2 red aspers for comparison. All images are labeld to help distinguish between animals and show offspring parent relations. These photos were all taken on the same morning within the space of an hour, one thing that is important when comparing animals is lighting. If pictures are taken of a few different animals at different times of the day, during different cloud cover or in dif...ferent locations, it is harder to compare them due to the difference in lighting playing such a big part in the appearance of the animal in the photograph. Also note these N.asper are all kept on red sand. This means that they flick it over their backs and coat themselves in it, I gave them all a direct light mist before their shoot to rinse this coat off but I beleive a fine dust like coat still effects their colours even after this process. Thus housing black aspers on white sand makes for even clearer lookin animals. Enjoy See more

02.01.2022 For anyone interested in the photography side of things, here's a bunch of shots from me figuring out different features of my new camera . Big thanks to my angry little N.l.l boy for modelling

02.01.2022 Thank you all once again! Half a thousand likes is a lot, I appreciate each and every one of you for helping the page to grow. I am currently heavily focused on my animals, setting up new hold back facilities, revisiting food suppliers and trying once again to set up my own insect breeding colonies, feeding lots and lots to my animals to ensure I get the best in return from my breeders and my younger animals are growing up strong and healthy, observing all of my animals' beha...viours to get all my timing right, breeding, collecting eggs and incubating. It is an exciting time with important decisions at every turn! I value your support and hope to share the results with you as they begin to materialise in a few months time

02.01.2022 The first extreme white baby!!!! That's right, the extreme white male I introduced to you all a while back has officially become a dad . Now before some of you get disappointed that it isn't white, let me explain this. This little one is currently 13 days old, pretty much all pilbarensis look a similar colour at this age. It takes several months to get even a vague idea as to their colour. Then even furthermore, high white pilbarensis take even longer to show their impressi...ve white colouration. The father, the extreme white pilb took 18 months to show the level of white that he has and standard high whites from other lines tend to take around 12 months. So expect at least a 12 month wait before the first of the extreme whites offspring actually shows off its beauty! Pictured also is it's mum, one of my favourite females, having just laid a clutch a couple of days ago she isn't looking her best in this photo but she is a very stocky animal with a nice heart shaped tail. It really shows through with this hatchling coming out very healthy and rather large in size, outgrowing some older hatchlings from other parents pretty quickly. I will definitely post pics of this animal as it develops, so stay tuned! believe me, for any of you that are excited about it and can't wait to see how it looks in a years time, I feel the same way X10 See more

01.01.2022 These angry babies are Soooo cute!!! (TURN SOUND ON )

01.01.2022 A gorgeous specimen from Ganda Geckos. I'm a sucker for stripes so I'm absolutely adoring her. She comes from very nice high white parents too, so hopefully she has some nice white stripes along her sides She's another one I can't wait to see develop!
